🌧️ The Importance of an Outline Drainage Strategy 🌍 I want to take a moment to recognise the incredible work delivered by all the Berrys disciplines on this scheme. I carried out an outline drainage strategy for this scheme, in today's changing climate, a solid outline drainage strategy is essential for several reasons. It effectively sets the tone for how surface and foul water will be managed, by mainly utilising desktop sourced resources. The strategy also manages flood risks by directing surface water runoff away from critical areas, aiming to protect people and property from flood risk. A well-designed strategy also supports sustainable development by integrating the four pillar SuDS approach, aiming to enhance biodiversity and promote healthier urban environments. Finally, lets not forget foul water, the strategy will always start by looking for nearby waste sewers, it is important to look carefully as I sometimes find private transferred sewers pre-2011 are not mapped. Failing this, the most appropriate off-mains system will be suggested in the strategy, which complies with the Environment Agency General Binding Rules. #UrbanPlanning #Sustainability #FloodManagement #EnvironmentalProtection #CommunityResilience #SuDS
