Creating things is really hard. Or easy. It depends what matters most. It’s easy to get things done, and in many ways “done is better than perfect”, right? Not always.
Sometimes simply getting something done means you miss the mark. After all, what have you really done? You’ve made a bike? So what. There are loads of different bikes out there. Most are ok, but very few are truly great, worth the effort, worth the wait.
It’s really hard to stick at something past the point that you expected to have it done, past the point that some customers hoped it would be done, but while timelines are always important they aren’t always the most important metric. Not when you’ve created something really special. That’s what people have bought into, been inspired by.
The guys at Flit have developed a truly brilliant bike, but like almost every manufacturer in the bike industry, they’ve suffered enormously from the still ongoing supply chain disruption. It’s killing companies left right and centre. But David Henderson and Alex Murray haven’t watered down what they’re doing, taken the easy route, just got something made to get it done. They've stuck to their vision, and pushed even harder, because what they are creating will certainly be worth the wait.
Stick at it guys, I CAN wait to ride it, even if it might feel like I can’t.
We’re gearing up to revamp the FLIT HQ for some two-wheeled magic! Stay tuned as we transform this space into a bike-building workshop as we gear up for M2 assembly 🔧
