Today, Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor joined a 23-state-coalition led by Nebraska regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed guidance on internal-combustion engines in medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The filing points out that the proposed guidance for a future ban on internal combustion engines in heavy-duty vehicles, which make up 95 percent of the vehicles in the United States today, will not be feasible given current technology and will increase the financial burden on U.S. citizens.   The filing also notes that this ban on internal combustion engines for heavy-duty engines far exceeds the authority granted to the EPA by Congress and as such cannot be implemented.   Read the filing here: https://lnkd.in/gAaGJd6p   #WeAreAKLaw #Alaska #EPA

The "Flag State Performance Table for the Maritime Sector 2023/2024" has been published by ICS. ✅ Green boxes indicate positive performance indicators; 🔻 Red boxes highlight potentially negative performance. In the 2023/2024 Table, it is emphasized that shipowners and operators should be encouraged to assess the competence of a Flag State before using it, particularly in light of some Flag States showing significant negative performance indicators. On October 1, Avjet Holding Inc., an aviation fuel distributor, was fined $200,000 by the Court of Québec following a guilty plea to violating Canada’s Storage Tank Systems for Petroleum Products Regulations under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. This conviction follows a petroleum spill incident at Natashquan Airport, Quebec, in January 2023. Key Highlights: 1. But the rule is languishing awaiting approval by the @U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
