I'm always open to have someone interesting that add value to the Firm. Whether you meet the paper qualification or the years of experience, the most important thing for me is what makes you come alive and passionate about. These days, I come to understand that people will join you is because of them and not your organisational needs or goals. 1. "I'm here because I have dependents. I have mouths to feed. I have bills to pay. I got commitments." This character will be looking at the next vacancies, higher salaries, doesn't last long, not about loyalty and you are just the platform to hop from. 2. "I have skills to contribute. I have been in business for a long time. I don't know what I want. You teach, I follow." This is a weight. Imagine that for someone of certain level and skills, having you to cross the "t"s, dot the "i"s, only help to lift weights when there is something in it for themselves. Zero in suggestions as it will put them into focus. 3." These are my terms." Complainer, whiner, take it to social media, not looking to accept challenges and will only work within their own terms irrespective of others' needs and problems. I'm fine giving chances and to collaborate, but I prefer working with people who will roll up their sleeves, getting themselves dirty and working for a better future, for us all.
When you are interested in applying for a vacant position but the criteria states that you need a number of years experience in a certain field or area, and although you may not have the required experience, apply for it anyway. Nobody ever has the required experience or expertise in every area which is listed down by the hiring team and yet somebody will be hired because the company needs that position to be filled. Never allow your inexperience to put you off from applying for a position that you are interested in just because you think it is above your knowledge or comfort zone. We all had to start somewhere before we became an expert in anything. Even walking was a mighty task for everyone of us at one point in our lives but that did not stop us from trying so, why should you not try even if you feel you are not qualified enough for a certain position? Just like how you learnt to walk, you will gain the experience you need along the way.

This can be achieved by setting realistic goals, managing our time effectively, and maintaining a positive attitude. ✳️ It is also essential to develop good relationships with our colleagues and superiors. A supportive work environment can help us feel more engaged and motivated, leading to better job satisfaction. We should also take advantage of opportunities for professional development, such as training programs and workshops, to enhance our skills and knowledge. ✳️In conclusion, job life is an essential aspect of our lives, and it is up to us to make the most of it. I began my HR career at GE, where one of my favorite bosses profoundly influenced how I approach work and life. He had a few core principles that still resonate with me today: - Make everything you do seem effortless. People may notice you working late into the night, but don’t broadcast it. - Learn to find the answers on your own. Only ask questions when you already understand the solution and can guide the conversation. - Always turn in your work ahead of schedule, under budget, and executed flawlessly. - Don’t speak in meetings unless you’re leading them or have something truly critical to contribute (I’m pretty verbal, this is still tough for me). - Take notes. Always. -Pick up the phone and have the conversation, don’t rely on email when a direct discussion is more effective. - Only hold meetings if they have a clear and defined purpose. - Treat people kindly, even when they don’t deserve it. - Never assume you’re the smartest person in the room, you aren’t, and you shouldn’t be. - Life will hit hard, sometimes knocking you to your knees. When it does, stand up, smile, and keep moving forward. - Your career will take unexpected turns. Embrace new opportunities and don’t be an expert in just one thing. - Know your craft better than anyone, and remember: if you can’t count, you don’t count.
