Today we honor the life and legacy of Mr. Richard Alatorre; a highly regarded political Pioneer, respected community leader, and dear friend of Pacifica’s President and CEO, Mr. Ernie Camacho. The bond between Ernie and Richard was not just of friendship, but of brotherhood – a bond that has spanned over half a century. On behalf of Ernie Camacho and the Camacho family, we extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Mr. Alatorre’s family - Angie, Derrick, Darrell, Melinda, extended family, and close friends. Richard devoted his political career to serving local and disadvantaged communities throughout Los Angeles County and the State of California. Richard walked side-by-side with Cesar Chavez fighting for the rights of farm workers throughout California helping enact the historic 1975 farm labor law to empowering Latinos politically through legislative reapportionment. Together, we pay tribute to Richard’s significant contributions to our industry and our communities. We cherish the friendships and memories that were shared amongst those closest to him. His life and legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us all. As we remember Richard today, let us carry forward his spirit of service, his dedication to community, and his unwavering commitment to making a difference.
