The office space to accommodate reception with waiting lounge, MD cabin, Conference room (with existing table), WS, file storage units and toilets. Being builders office, the visitors should have glimpse of office interiors, office space should have open office concept. The same was achieved in the layout design and by detailing. The waiting lounge face the reception and not the office space, more over the workstation is provided with suspended over head storage unit, which provides storage space as well as semi privacy from the visitors. The storage unit is also provided with light both below (task lighting for work space) and above (ambient light for the surroundings)

Why do people who build spaces in commercial real estate not want to understand building codes? The comments in this are baffling to me with even what I would consider basic knowledge of sprinkler design and fire protection. There are so many ways to work within the fire code for this type of construction - like the open top pointed out. We're going to throw a ton of pre-fab enclosed spaces full of what is likely highly flammable acoustic insulation and depend on a sprinkler that would likely be overwhelmed by a fire in it. But it's the code's fault.

Oh the secret is out! Phone booths are hard to install in San Francisco! All kidding aside, the real estate and workplace world in San Francisco has known this for ages, though code enforcement has been inconsistent for a variety of reasons. San Francisco is also not the only city where this is an issue. I feel that requiring internal fire sprinklers and strobe lights is overkill for modular, furniture style phone booths, since the sprinklers and strobes in the rest of the office cover the booths - but that is what the code requires. What do you think? In your experience, are companies not installing booths moving forward? Could the use case for booths be accomplished by other furniture or architecture? I think so...
