At Ostinato, the limits of network testing are constantly being pushed. The Turbo add-on was designed for scalability, allowing multiple queues per port and cores to be leveraged. Initially, a single core and queue were found to be sufficient, thanks to the AF_XDP fast path, which delivered 20 million packets per second (Mpps) with just one core. In November, a question was asked by a customer: could Ostinato handle 100Gbps? It was confirmed that Turbo could achieve 100Gbps at 600-byte packet sizes on the Intel E810 NIC, which equals 20 Mpps, the single core/queue limit.
