⏰ The countdown to the Procurement Act has been extended! The Cabinet Office has announced in a written statement today that the Procurement Act 2023, originally due to come into force on 28 October 2024, will now do so on Monday 24 February 2025. The Government intends to make regulations to implement the new date. The change in timings follows a decision that the National Procurement Policy Statement (NPPS), published in May 2024, needs to be updated to reflect the new government's priorities. The statement explains the short delay is needed in order to complete the work of producing a new NPPS.
