The AMA is pleased to announce that all Australian Medical Association (WA) members have returned to full federal membership status, effective today. This positive development means Western Australian doctors can now be represented once again at the federal level as Australian Medical Association members. Going forward, we will work closely with AMA WA, as we do with all state and territory AMAs, on how we can deliver positive outcomes for all doctors. Whether it's addressing the concerning viability issues in the private health system; the public hospital logjam; shoring up general practice as the cornerstone of the health system, or the myriad regulatory issues facing all doctors at state and federal levels, the AMA — and the profession as a whole — is stronger when it works together at both levels of government. The AMA welcomes this new chapter and will continue to drive meaningful change and deliver the best outcomes for Australian doctors. The European Society for Emergency Medicine would like to congratulate the Sociedade Portuguesa de Medicina de Urgência e Emergência on obtaining approval for Emergency Medicine to become a specialty in Portugal. On 23rd September 2024, the Assembly of Representatives of the Order of Physicians (OM) approved the new specialty of Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine. 👥 Every patient who decides to embark on a course of treatment in one of our #rehabilitation clinics in Italy or abroad is looked after by a case manager right from the start. 👩⚕️ The 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 is a specialist #doctor who creates a treatment protocol after the initial consultation and careful diagnosis and supervises all treatment until the patient reaches the set objectives. 🎯 Once the treatment has been decided, the doctor assigns the patient to the rehabilitation specialists but is still responsible for their treatment path and monitors the path both via ongoing updates with the rehabilitation experts and through regular check-ups.
