The law says that all lifting operations involving lifting equipment must be properly planned by a competent person; appropriately supervised; and carried out in a safe manner. Cranes and lifting accessories such as slings must be of adequate strength, tested and subject to the required examinations and inspections. All crane operators, and people involved in slinging loads and directing lifting operations, must be trained and competent. #lifting #training #Sling #crane

Riding Hoisting Equipment (RHE) Safety Guidelines for Oil and Gas Drilling Rig - HSE Students 🚧 1️⃣ Safe Access on Derrick or Mast HSE Tip: Always prioritize proper access and fall protection in elevated work areas. Use ladders provided for ascending and descending the derrick or mast. Wear proper fall arrestor equipment at all times. 🚶♂️ Riding the pipe hoisting gear is strictly prohibited! 🚫 2️⃣ No Sliding on Pipes, Hoses, or Cables HSE Tip: Avoid shortcuts that increase risk of falls or injuries. Sliding on pipes, cables, or ropes is not allowed unless using an escape line in an emergency. 🛑 3️⃣ Emergency Lowering Procedure HSE Tip: Emergency plans require careful preparation and skilled personnel. Personnel may be lowered from the derrick using traveling blocks or air hoist only in emergencies. Ensure rotary table is stopped and only an experienced operator designated by the Rig Operator handles controls. A risk assessment and work permit must be prepared prior to any emergency lowering. ✅ 4️⃣ Use of Boatswain’s Chair 🚧 HSE Tip: Use only approved safety equipment designed for the job. Only full-body harnesses with attached boatswain’s chairs are allowed. Standard boatswain’s chairs are prohibited. ❌ 5️⃣ Approved Riding Safety Belts HSE Tip: Elevated work requires safety judgment and adherence to standards. Riding-type safety belts are allowed for inspection or lubrication tasks in elevated positions if risks are lower than using a work platform. Supervisor approval is required before using a riding belt for hoisting or lowering. 📋 Remember: Safety is the foundation of every task on the rig! Follow protocols, stay alert, and be equipped with the right knowledge. 🌱 #HSE #SafetyFirst #OilAndGas #RigSafety #DrillingRig #HSEGuidelines #SafetyTraining #OilfieldLife #SafetyStandards #FieldSafety #HSEStudents #OilfieldSafety #InspectionProtocol #RigOperations #IndustrialSafety #DrillingSafety #EquipmentSafety #SafetyMatters #OilAndGasIndustry #SafetyInDrilling Credit: aramco bp Saipem Shell Kuwait Oil Company QatarEnergy Indian Oil Corp Limited Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited Eni Transocean https://lnkd.in/dk5ChUy8 Video credit: @DrillingSchool https://lnkd.in/dKZWKD-5

#constructionsafetyweek Day 4!!! Always remember to use your equipment for the heavy stuff! Even if you’re Superman! “When lifting, be sure to bend at the knees and keep your back straight. Hold the load close to your body and keep your feet shoulder-width apart for balance. Avoid twisting or turning while lifting, and use your leg muscles to lift rather than your back.” #construction #lightindustrial #jobsite #safety #zeroaccidents #zeroinjuries #gohomesafely #safetyfirstpriority #workforcesolutionsdemand #saltlakecity #webuildutah
