I've been using photography for some time now as a practice of observation and attunement. I hope this workshop, hosted by Murmurations Journal of Transformative Systemic Practice/Everything is Connected Press, will enable participants to consider their connections with nature, using some of my images to prompt stories, poems and artwork to explore our relationship to the 'more than human'. We will consider how photography can help us develop a second-order awareness, where we are not just observing but also participating in - and changed by - the systems we observe, and how we can experience photography as a way to inhabit the present moment fully, embracing the sacred unity of interconnected life.

FACULTY OF USELESS KNOWLEDGE - #ALLSPECIESMATTER At FUK we consider robust #scientific #evidence that indicates we should do X, but keeps humanity continu doing Y 'useless'. This position of FUK and the Dombrovsky University makes us rather impopular in many scientific circles. There's heavy debate on the concept of 'uselessness' of knowledge compared to the preferred 'not used' knowledge. This is not a triviality or word play. FUK considers knowledge that is willfully ignored 'useless', 'not used' doesn't do justice to humanity's stupidity. An example is found in the #AllSpeciesMatter concept launched by FUK years ago: ecological evidence shows that all #species, no matter what size or cuteness, play a significant role in the #ecosystem. This is a fundamental fact of #life on #earth. Yet humans prefer #photography contests to decide which (photo of a) species is the best of the year.
