The PCRF team is on the ground in central Gaza, providing life-changing support through our ongoing One-Time Sponsorship (OTS) Medical Emergency Program - Eyeglasses. This initiative is dedicated to children who’ve lost their eyeglasses in the rubble of their homes and have endured months without them. By restoring their vision, we’re not just improving their quality of life—we’re giving them back a sense of normalcy and hope in the midst of chaos. We are honored to stand with these children, offering tangible support during these devastating times. Thank you to all who make this possible. Share this post to bring awareness to these deserving children and join us in continuing to bring hope and healing—every contribution makes a difference. https://lnkd.in/eFVrrnt #PCRF #Palestine #Gaza #GazaStrip #NGO #Humanitarianism #NonProfitOrganization #TeamPCRF #HopeInGaza #MedicalSponsorship #HumanitarianAid

Dear LinkedIn network, I am striding for Gaza in aid of Medical Aid for Palestinians. In 19 days I will run the distance between Gaza and Occupied East Jerusalem (95km), a journey prohibited for Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. Any donation, big or small would be greatly appreciated :) For context, here is a harrowing, heartbreaking account on the state of medical care in Gaza, by Médecins Sans Frontières: “There are not enough hospital beds, not enough medications, and not enough supplies. Surgeons have had no choice but to carry out amputations without anaesthesia, on children. Our surgeons are running out of basic gauze to stop their patients from bleeding out. They use it once, squeeze out the blood, wash it, sterilize it, and reuse it for the next patient. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has left pregnant women without medical care for months. Women in labour cannot reach functional delivery rooms. They are giving birth in plastic tents and public buildings. Medical teams have added a new acronym to their vocabulary: WCNSF— wounded child, no surviving family. Children who survive this war will not only bear the visible wounds of traumatic injuries but the invisible ones, too—those of repeated displacement, constant fear, and witnessing family members literally dismembered before their eyes. These psychological injuries have led children as young as five to tell us they would prefer to die.” (https://lnkd.in/gFNGaWfs) https://lnkd.in/ggm6e4Tg

Aid convoys to Gaza are currently extremely limited; how are International Health Partners getting aid in? Despite limited access to NGO humanitarian aid, IHP is committed to delivering essential supplies to #Gaza. 🤝 Working closely with our in-country partner, we've secured a viable route, but the situation remains volatile, and routes are subject to change. 🔄 Continuous Assessment: We understand the challenges and risks. Our team is actively monitoring the situation, regularly assessing accessibility to ensure the safe and timely delivery of aid. Flexibility is key in navigating the ever-changing landscape. 🚚 Backlog Challenges: There is a backlog of approximately 3,000 aid trucks in Al Arish affected by delays crossing the border. However, IHP is prepared. Our medicines and supplies are not only of the highest quality but also long-dated, enabling us to navigate delays without compromising efficacy. 💪 Our Commitment: IHP remains dedicated to providing crucial aid to Gaza despite obstacles. Your support makes a difference. Stay up to date with our efforts. I am struggling to believe that over 9 months on, 284 days later, there is no ceasefire in Gaza; there is still barely any aid, food, water, or healthcare. An entire population of 2 million (40% of which are children) are being traumatised. But with all the other world events, it's falling off the news cycle. So here are some headlines: * 186,000 deaths, according to a conservative estimate in the Lancet: at least 8% of the population. * the "largest cohort of child amputees in history" (MSF trauma doctor, via New Yorker) * famine across the entire Gaza strip (OHCHR) * Only 13/36 hospitals are partially functional. (OCHA) Women giving birth without anaesthetic in tents; amputations without anaesthetic; contagious disease rampant due to lack of sanitation. * Shelters of 10,000 people surviving on just 500ml water per person per day (IRC/MAP); For comparison, the minimum standard is 15 litres; UK daily average is 142 litres. * Over half of buildings damaged or destroyed: it could take 40 years to rebuild. (UNEP/UNDP) * Repeated bombings of displaced people in 'safe zones'. Over 70,000 tons of bombs were dropped between October-April, double that of Dresden, Hamburg and London combined during WWII (Euro Med Human Rights Monitor). Land and water is contaminated with hazardous substances from the explosives. * 44 years of development - healthcare, education, wealth - wiped out. (UNDP) What you can do: 1. Stay informed. Follow media coverage for example with Al Jazeera, Haaretz (sign up for their Daily Brief email), and social media accounts like @wizard_bisan1 on Instagram. 2. Help suspend arms sales. International humanitarian law - the 'law of war' - must be upheld. Support the work of Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) who are taking the UK government to court for their failure to halt weapons exports. Write to your MP; sign petitions like this one. https://lnkd.in/esN83TCB. 3. Donate if you can. UNICEF, UNRWA, MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians), MSF are all good options. Choose Love currently has a matched-funding campaign: https://lnkd.in/eT4hBtaX 4. Attend a March or Rally. Follow Palestine Solidarity Campaign for the latest events in the UK. I've now been on several - there are children, people in their 80s and 90s, Jewish groups and holocaust survivors, students, trade union people, climate activists, parents and families. Despite the bad press, it's friendly, humanity is on full display and I've met many wonderful people there.

Today, my heart aches for the people of Gaza. The recent events remind us of the ongoing humanitarian crisis that demands our attention and action. As we witness the devastating impact of conflict on innocent lives, it's crucial to stand in solidarity with those affected and amplify their voices. Support for Gaza goes beyond borders and politics—it's about humanity. We must advocate for immediate access to essential services, healthcare, and humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. Every voice raised in support can make a difference, whether through spreading awareness, donating to reputable organizations on the ground, or urging policymakers to prioritize peace and justice. Let's come together, not just in sympathy, but in action. Together, we can make a tangible difference and bring hope to those who need it most. #SupportForGaza #HumanityFirst
