What’s your you-factor as a creative🤔? I recently listened to a pod by Chris Do and Joey Cofone, The Laws of creativity (https://lnkd.in/dGyQAe3J). And there is something they were discussing that caught my ear. “Embrace your weirdness, your limited editioness, your you-factor. In-short your uniqueness as a creative” As cliché as this sounds, you are one in 8 billion (sounds like a lyric to a sauti sol song😀). As a creative, there is a way you think and do things that no other creative even in the same field does. Some of us got ridiculed when we were kids by how we did things. People called as weird, and we felt offended. Little did we know that we could take it positively. It’s about time we embrace how the Master created us, with flaws, strengths and weirdness (Kwa wenye bado wanastruggle with this) The big thing I took away from that pod, is to write down 4 of your top interests and try to incorporate them into your work. This are my 4 that I wrote down and the influence I felt it had over my work: Spirituality(Purpose, Creative direction) Photography (Use of imagery, photo manipulation) Movies (Composition, Color theory) Tech (Equipment I use, design process) I extend the same question to you,,,, what are your 4?? Take time to think, write them down, and be intentional about them.

Have you heard about co-design? Do you want to know how to do it well? I wanted to share this great podcast, resource list and tools – it's a deep dive into co-design and looks like it will be super useful for everyone working in research, community engagement, social innovation, anything really where non-tokenistic diversity is important in designing ANYTHING (projects, processes, policies, physical assets/structures and heaps more). It can be applied in so many fields (First Nations, LGBTIQ+, people living with differing abilities). It talks about the importance of recognising and elevating the voices and contributions of lived experience (not just the people with the bits of paper), challenging power dynamics, creating new roles for diverse people with lived experience, and building the 'evidence' of lived experiences. Six essential mindsets for co-design: 1. Elevating lived experience 2. Curiosity 3. Hospitality 4. Being in the grey 5. Learning through doing 6. Valuing many perspectives Have a listen: https://lnkd.in/gXYmc5FS
