There's HUGE opportunity out there in the Salesforce ecosystem at the moment, you just have to know where to look ⬇ It's no secret that the last 12 months has been one of the most challenging when it comes to identifying new opportunities. But, off the back of some really interesting conversations last week, it's clear that there is ABSOLUTELY still plenty of appetite for specialist Salesforce talent. Speaking with a variety of leaders across both Partners & End-Users in the UK & US, here's a few key talking points: ➡ Reduced spend from Customers on Salesforce partners due to macroeconomic data has impacted revenue, which could result in some layoffs over the course of 2024. ➡ Due to lack of resource capability & depth for SOME Salesforce partners, and poor management of expectations, they have under-delivered for their customers. As a result, there has been a huge push from Customers to understand the depth of resources a Partner has BEFORE signing off on their partnership together. ➡ As a result, we have seen a big push from customers to enhance their internal CoE's, and scale their internal Salesforce capabilities, rather than relying on external SIs. This certainly presents some exciting new opportunities: ➡ Due to competitor's underperformance, specialist Salesforce partners can further grow their client portfolio by identifying these pain points, optimizing their service offering for their given verticals, and ensuring that their process is perfectly aligned to their target clients, allowing them to deliver true value. ➡ Specialist Salesforce partners can further establish themselves as the leader in their given vertical by identifying the BEST specialist talent in the ecosystem, and ensuring they have the resource capability to deliver these roadmaps. ➡ It also means that customers can increase their internal Salesforce capabilities and create an ecosystem-leading CoE, reducing their spend on SI Partners and maximising their ROI from the platform, whilst making sure they have the capability to continuously scale. ☁️ The Salesforce market for talent appears to be ramping up in advance of 2025. I’ve seen the big Partners advertising that they’re hiring across multiple roles. And they might be. ⚙️ 🏙️ These are the same businesses that carried people on the bench through the early and mid part of last year before entering another round of redundancies. So, if your looking for a role or looking for people it’s a really challenging time. 👁️ The normal rules don’t apply. Some people that are not currently in a role really have something to offer and are hungry for work. 🏠 Smaller, more boutique agencies might be a better option for longer term success if you’re on the market. Don’t be dazzled by the big lights necessarily. Companies looking for in-house talent, do you know what good looks like and how do you tell if a candidate that’s worked in Consultancy can be right for your smaller team ❓ 🎄 Couple this with waiting until January to start your processes and I can see a similar scrap for people. This will be fuelled by the sales push that is currently underway at Salesforce. Don’t forget Q4 at Salesforce is just around the corner and we know what that means. I get the feeling it will be bigger than ever this time around. So, my advice. Start now. ➡️ Start your processes now. I was going to say early, but it’s not, starting now is still a bit behind.
