My second article is now posted on WineBusiness.com. I had a great time talking with Adam Schulz of Incredible Wine Co. about Washington's response to current oversupply and Glenn Proctor of Ciatti Company about the state of the California market. Make sure to give it a read!

Hmmm…..so why is business so tough out there in the Post-COVID market? Overstocked distributors, a resurgence in the popularity of spirits, continued weakness in the restaurant sector as well as legal marijuana in some markets and neo-prohibitionism are ALL weighing on sales. I speak to producers, importers and retailers all day long and few (if any) are experiencing any growth in sales at all. Staying even is considered a hard won success. Those BMO numbers show solid increases….sorry to say that I’m not seeing them.
Finally, some more good news about wine! This new BMO report, which includes some of our WINE MARKET COUNCIL consumer survey data, shows that wine sales are up in the U.S. market, and have increased 46% since 2018 to $107 billion. I'm so grateful that there is finally a fact-based report that represent 100% of the U.S. market. Thanks to authors Adam Beak, Jon Moramarco, Christian Miller, and Andrew Adams! #winebusiness https://lnkd.in/dfCX7XvB
