Most of the time, there are warning signs. We might not want to admit it, but most of the time, they are there. Most of the time, it is a scary situation, how a person will react if you ask them about it, what will you do if they admit to being in a bad place. Other times we just don't want to get involved, we have to much on our own plate. But my lesson, that I share with you today is: If you care about them, be courageous enough to ask, be willing to listen, and learn about the resources available to both of you. Resources that I recommend: 👍 American Foundation for Suicide Prevention ☎ #988 crisis line 📞 Local Crisis teams - google search for yours 💻 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - offered by most employers 👥 Survivors who share their stories #bevulnerable #listen #beprepared #advocate

If you could create a legacy fund to support three of your favourite causes… Which ones would you choose? 🤔 For our team, it's...the Canadian Association of Gift Planners Foundation, the Ottawa Humane Society, Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, and Elevate International. When we work with clients on their estate and legacy plan, one of our goals is to help them support causes that are aligned with their values, while still taking care of their families. 🌟Our overarching goal is to redirect at least $5 million a year of our client’s money from CRA (taxes) to their favorite charities! #athenawealthandlegacysolutions #canada #legacybuilding #charitablegiving #financialplanner

Outspoken Psychologist. Data-Driven DEI Advisor. I help organizations become anti-racist using research-backed methodologies. I also support BIPOC in professional spaces.
You might have seen me post about the 8-month program Saamiya and I are launching in late August to help BIPOC heal from racial trauma and find their voice. Until Thursday, we are donating all of our class proceeds to families escaping G@z@. Our goal is to raise $4,500 but we would love to raise more. So far, one person has committed. What will you get for your donation? You can either pay for your own spot in the program or pay it forward for someone else who needs financial support. We will then donate 100% of your funds to families escaping G*aza, picking from campaigns highlighted in Operation Olive Branch. (If you are the donor, we will send you the receipts). Why donate? Because not only will you be donating to families trying to survive a g*noc1d3, you will also be contributing to your (or someone else’s) racial healing. Why are Saamiya and I doing this? Well, we want to raise awareness about the dire situation in G*za, where horrific m@assacres are occurring every day and do our part to help. It’s been really hard for us to grapple with the fact that the g*nocid3 still continues with no signs of stopping. You can read more about the class here. At the sign-up link, you can indicate whether you are signing up for yourself or for someone else. https://lnkd.in/gJbf5cKA If you want more info before donating, attend our free class demo this Wednesday at 12pm CT! It also serves as a standalone workshop on racial healing: https://lnkd.in/gVdUHc7q
