May is mental health awareness month people. This year my family will ride 50KM together and pay tribute to the way too many people in our lives we’ve lost to suicide. Consider joining my team and riding, or donate. Your donation is vital so Jack.org can continue its critical work of helping youth understand their mental health and seek help without shame. Team Westcoast: To Join: https://lnkd.in/eGS2G-QV To Donate: https://lnkd.in/e3isbVG5 Here’s what else you can do: 1. Complete the (free) Be There Certificate and learn how to be there for others. Destigmatizing mental health is a matter of life and death. https://lnkd.in/ek5idjMN 2. Spread the word about Be There, friends, family, co-workers, shout it from the rooftops. 3. Stop thinking it couldn’t happen to anyone in your circle…it can. Learn to get comfortable discussing matters of mental health. Take care of yourself. Wishing you all good mental health. #MayMentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealth #Suicide

Mental health is a vital aspect of our overall well-being, impacting how we think, feel, and interact with others. It's essential to prioritize self-care, seek support when needed, and foster open conversations about mental health challenges. Remember that it's okay to ask for help, whether through friends, family, or professionals, and that taking small steps toward managing stress and anxiety can lead to significant improvements. Let's create an environment where mental health is openly discussed and valued, reminding ourselves that we are not alone in this journey. At Cleveland Cable Company, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting causes that matter. This month, we’re proud to support the Headlight Project, an organisation dedicated to mental health support and suicide prevention. As we observe #InternationalCharityDay today and #WorldSuicidePreventionDay approaches, we encourage everyone to raise awareness and help break the stigma surrounding mental health. Together, we can create a brighter, safer future 💙 🔗 Learn more about how you can get involved and donate here: https://lnkd.in/ecStKvR3 #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #Charity #SocialImpact #ClevelandCable

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, with the new triennial theme: 'Changing The Narrative on Suicide'. This theme focuses on raising awareness about the importance of reducing stigma and encouraging open conversations to prevent suicides. Changing the narrative on suicide means reshaping how we approach this complex issue and shifting from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness, understanding, and support. Whether it’s a colleague, a friend or a loved one, let's all take a moment today to reach out and listen. #startheconversation Here are some ways we can help: - Listen without judgement - sometimes the greatest help we can offer is to simply listen. - Be kind to yourself and others - small acts of kindness are impactful. - Share resources - encourage others to seek professional support when needed. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Please reach out. Charities such as Samaritans offer 24/7 helplines, find out more information below: https://lnkd.in/dqaUFSXB #SuicidePreventionDay #MentalHealth #SRCInfrastructure

Thank You, why I do it, and a plea for help! THANK YOU Thank you for all the support at this difficult time. Many people have contacted me offering condolences for my brother and thanking me for speaking up on such an important topic. I am very grateful for this. WHY I DO IT? Some wonder why I talk about this in such a public place, and I do it for the following reasons: ➡ Because if it helps one person by me talking about mental health it is all worth it? ➡ Because it needs to be discussed regularly until a mental illness is treated like a physical illness. This is my goal, and we have a long way to go. ➡ Because every time I do it, someone contacts me telling me my message resonated and made a difference. They often open up to me about a mental illness they or a family member deals with. ➡Striving a way to make a difference is the way I can honor my family and friends who have suffered from and, in some cases, lost their lives due in part to mental illnesses. A PLEA FOR HELP!!! As a way to honor my brothers and support those who suffer from mental illness, I am participating in the Out of Darkness Suicide Walk. I did not lose my brother John to suicide, but I did lose my brother James to suicide, and I watched them both suffer from mental health challenges. This is why I am honoring them with the walk. Please consider donating to the Out of Darkness Suicide Walk Team James and John Barnhurst Link to Support the Cause: https://lnkd.in/gpEyVCRJ My goal is to raise $1,000, and anyone who donates and emails me to let me know they donated will receive my Modern Excel course for free. Please consider giving something to this important cause even if it is only a $1 or $2. Together we can make a difference. One day if we all work together the sigma with mental illness will be gone and we will accept it as a part of this life just like physical illness.

As a Mental Health First Aider, it's vital to recognise the importance of having appointed staff in the workplace to support others, especially during Suicide Awareness Month. If you're feeling like you need to talk to someone, or you're concerned about a friend or colleague, please don’t hesitate to speak up. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple gesture to make a difference. If you notice a change in someone's behavior, could you spare just 10 minutes to sit down with them over a cup of tea and ask how they're doing? That small moment of connection could be exactly what someone needs to feel less alone.
Suicide Prevention Month is recognised in September. It is a crucial time to raise awareness about suicide rates and take action to prevent it, we would like to take a moment to reflect on our fundraising efforts this month. Thanks to our annual Golf Day, we were able to raise a significant amount of money for Mind, the mental health charity. We all have a role in supporting those struggling with mental health. 💙 Championing mental health: £250 donation to Mind. 💙 We’ve recently contributed £250 to Mind, a charity dedicated to promoting and supporting #mentalhealth awareness and resources. Demand for mental health services is growing. This trend is evident in #TeamJayva employees and families too. For this reason, we’re taking proactive steps towards creating an environment where mental health is nurtured, beginning with a donation to Mind – to join the campaign for mental health so no one should have to fight alone. #mind #mentalhealthadvocacy

As our 1 in 5 Campaign comes to a close on World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded of the powerful stories that have been shared—stories of resilience and hope. The truth is, mental illness affects us all. It’s a mother, a brother, a friend. It’s 1 in 5 Canadians, each living a story that deserves our attention, our understanding, and our support. But raising awareness is only the first step. To create real change, we need to act. Your donation today can directly impact the lives of those who are struggling in silence. It can help fund crucial mental health services, provide access to therapy, and give someone the hope they need to keep going. If 1 in 5 Albertans gave to this campaign, imagine the lives that could be changed. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Support this fight for mental wellness. Donate now to the Mental Health Foundation’s 1 in 5 Campaign via the link in our bio and stand with those who need us most. Together, we can create a healthier, more compassionate Alberta. We have a better future in mind, and we hope you do too. #OneInFive_AB #MentalHealthMatters #SupportMentalHealth #DonateNow
