Do THIS. You can start NOW. You’ll want to pass this on even if you don’t have kids! Clear out your children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after! Why? Because charity shops see a number of strapped for cash parents in the days before Christmas - looking for toys for their little ones. There's very rarely anything in just before, but they get inundated with toys in the days after. No-cost to you to help! If you know your children will get lots from Santa this year, clear out your cupboards a few days early. You could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too. IDEA! … Why not do a reverse advent calendar with your kids in November? Each day, get them to pop one toy into a box for a charity shop. Start on 7th November and they have a boxful to donate on 1st December. That’s when they open the first door on their real advent calendar. Great activity to do with the kids that also teaches them about the gift of giving to a charity shop. They’ll feel really proud of themselves. Let’s keep it going! Got no kids? Who do you know who has?

It's a good time to donate all your sparkly outfits that you've hung on to for far too long that could give somebody else a great value new look in the expensive pre-Christmas party season.

Pam Case love the everss advent calendar idea! I usually clear things out to create space and donate but didn’t think of the impact those donated toys make at Christmas time

As a trustee for Centrepoint Outreach in Boston, this is a crucial tip. We are about to start asking for toys as it really does help those families who otherwise would find the cost out of their remit Pam Case
