🚀 Mastering the Marathon: Strategies for Navigating the Job Application Process 🚀 In any application cycle the process can feel like running a marathon with no finish line in sight. Rejection letters and unanswered applications are common for anyone applying for internships or full-time positions and this can easily lead to burn out. In the past, putting in around 50 or so applications was standard for getting a position but with how competitive today’s job market is, that number has grown substantially.🏃♂️💼 In a recent study by business.com ("New Graduates: Job Search Experiment", 2022), 4 interns applied to 311 positions and this only resulted in 17 phone screens. While that number is daunting, staying the course and maintaining a high volume of applications is crucial to your success with the reality of modern recruitment cycles.💡 🔑 Persistence Is Key: The only thing that’s for certain when applying for jobs is you won’t get a position if you don’t apply to it. Don’t let discouragement stop you from getting the job you want! It only takes 1 recruiter liking your resume to get an interview! 🎯 Quantity Matters: Casting a wide net increases your chances of success. Don’t fixate on a select few job titles or specific companies. Apply to a high volume of jobs to maximize your chances of landing interviews and then a job offer. 💪 Building Resilience: Each rejection is an opportunity for growth. Make sure that you track your applications as each rejection provides important feedback that can assist in tailoring your approach. This will help save time and energy when partnering with Career Services for further assistance. 📝 Tailor Your Resume: Applying to hundreds of positions with the same resume and never hearing back is an easy fix. Look for ways to align your resume experience with specific job descriptions to increase the chance of being a match. 💆♂️ Take Care of Yourself: Prioritize self-care throughout the process. Make sure to break up the times you apply so you don’t burn yourself out with hours of submissions. A goal of 5-10 a day will help with consistency and keep you from overwhelming yourself. Keep pushing forward, stay focused, and trust the process. Your next opportunity could be just around the corner. 💼✨ #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #PersistencePaysOff #PamplinCareerServices

So what is the cost of a bad hire? Is it just a matter of losing time or is it a matter of losing money as well? Let's talk cold, hard facts. Think a bad hire is just a resume misfire? Think again! According to Business(dot)com, they can cost up to 30% of their first-year salary, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. ❄️ Breezy HR lays it out. Their formula factors in salary, recruiting costs, and time to fill the position. Let's say you recruit a "rockstar" developer at $100,000, spend $15,000 on the search, and it takes 3 months to find them (lost productivity, anyone?). Bam! You're already $52,500 in the hole before they even step in the door. And it doesn't stop there. CareerBuilder surveyed the damage, with companies losing an average of $18,700 per bad hire because of wasted resources, decreased productivity, and even legal issues. ⚖️ Remember, it's not just about numbers. Bad hires drain team morale, damage your brand, and create toxic work environments. ☣️ Is that the legacy you want? So, next time you're tempted to rush a hire, think twice! Invest the time in crafting a meaningful job description, in a quality interview process, prioritize cultural fit, and make that first decision the right one. Your bank account, team, and sanity will thank you. #ExecutiveRecruiter #LeadershipTips #TalentAcquisition #CostOfBadHire

WHAT IS YOUR JOB REALLY COSTING YOU? I had a conversation today with lets say Emily, a receptionist at a major Fortune 500 company in Sydney. We were discussing the possibility of her starting her own business, and as we reviewed the minimal start up costs, I posed a question: "What is your job costing you?" Initially, Emily was unsure what I meant, but as we delved deeper, things became clearer. Her role required a specific dress code and appearance—fancy business suits, polished shoes, manicured nails, impeccable hair—all adding up to thousands of dollars annually. This was for a job earning her $45,000 a year. We also talked about the risks involved, such as the potential for redundancy in her current role. With technological advancements and economic uncertainties, her job security wasn't guaranteed. We explored her career advancement prospects within her company, which boiled down to modest 2-4% annual pay increases that barely kept pace with inflation. Moving up meant investing in additional training at her own expense. Now, here’s another thought: What if I could show you a way to establish your own business without significant upfront costs? And what if the potential earnings far surpassed what your job offers? By the way, that "little bit of shuffling" I mentioned refers to the tax advantages available to business owners. When I started, I discovered I could deduct business expenses from my taxes, ensuring I wasn’t out of pocket by year-end. #winning So, when considering a business, two questions come to mind: What are the costs involved? What’s the potential for earnings and growth? With this business , the potential upside is immense. You can start part-time while maintaining your current commitments, gradually building towards full-time entrepreneurship and financial freedom. We're seeking ambitious individuals—big thinkers—who aspire to earn a minimum of $10,000 a month within the next 6-12 months. If you have at least two hours a day to invest in a new venture and want to secure your future beyond traditional employment risks, then let’s schedule a time to talk today, you can book in a 5 minute discovery call here https://lnkd.in/gi2fd4wW #thegreatresignation #redundancy #onlineinomceopportunity

We’ve discussed assembling a resume a few times in the last couple months. Now it’s time to (metaphorically) put pen to paper and get that thing polished up. 📄 Hmm. How do we describe our skills, titles, experiences & degrees, especially if we see a job we are particularly interested in? Yes – the temptation could be there to fudge or inflate. There’s a pretty harsh term floating around – it’s called Resume Fraud. 🕵🏻♀️ According to recent studies highlighted by Business.com and Human Resources Online, the prevalence of resume fraud is alarming. 😱 Shockingly, over half of surveyed applicants admitted to falsifying information to secure employment opportunities in 2024 alone. Additionally, a recent poll taken by ResumeBuilder found that 7 in 10 respondents have lied on their resume before. 🤥 Of those who lied, 44% fudged their academic credentials, 40% years of experience, 37% skills & abilities and 25% previous job responsibilities. When it comes to some of these areas, content could be subject to debate or “artistic license”, but the numbers are eye opening nonetheless. Added to the mix are online resources like CareerExcuse and Fake Resume which encourage this activity. Usually from the perspective of – employers aren’t always honest on their JDs – you should paint yourself in the best possible light. Fake Resume is relatively self-explanatory. CareerExcuse will function as your own personal job reference service and provide fake company references, employment verification and have fake virtual company websites for you to reference. 🤨 Employers must implement thorough background screening processes and verify candidate credentials diligently to safeguard their organizations against potential risks. Meanwhile, job seekers should prioritize honesty and authenticity in their applications, recognizing that integrity is the cornerstone of sustainable career success. After all, landing that job is just the first step – actually being able to do the job successfully is another thing entirely.💼✅ #ResumeFraud #cpacareers #jobsearch #Professionalism
