Another successful follow-up collaboration meeting with Rural Capital Berhad (RCB) on the 5th of June 2024. A project collaboration in KBD Content Management is proposed and further discussion on employee benefits for all the staff under MARA Corp. We are optimistic about the next steps and its potential to bring about significant positive changes. Let’s hope for the best!

Employee Ownership Trusts (“EOT”) as a next step in the recognition of the benefits of Stakeholder Capitalism. https://lnkd.in/gChvNPN4 I listened in on the Canadian Club Toronto event yesterday. It provided great perspective on the experiences in other jurisdictions and an analysis of what is still to be done in Canada . https://lnkd.in/gQBiuYWu “The federal government is considering a way to seize on a golden opportunity to build economic resilience throughout this transition by adopting one of the most popular business succession tools available in the U.S. and U.K.: Employee Ownership Trusts.” Panelists spoke of EOTs resulting in enhanced productivity, retention, adding fuel to ownership succession planning opportunities and keeping businesses in their communities. The distinction was made between the employees participating in wealth creation and profitability but these are not businesses operated as democracies. An EOT is a continuation of the for profit business. The federal government has already recognized that Canada is a stakeholder jurisdiction. It is now is working on this key step in realizing the benefits of EOTs- tax incentives for sellers of businesses, extending trust expiry term and oversight.
