SouthState Bank is the latest victim to cyberattack... According to the law firm contracted to investigate, the "cybersecurity incident may have resulted in a data breach involving sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals." SouthState Bank discovered the problem just last week, and they have been working through the many steps of reporting and investigating. If you are an account holder with SouthState, it would be wise to check with them for details on the breach. From a business perspective, this is a chilling reminder to make sure you have cybersecurity measures in place. Does your business have the tools to detect "unauthorized access?" If not, now is the time to reach out to get a network assessment - not after a breach occurs. https://lnkd.in/gCciw92N

Always VERIFY... then trust! ⛔ In connection with a previous post I had about our digital security, this article popped on my radar. It exemplifies exactly why prevention is critical and you can only prevent when you are aware of your exposure. Awareness is build by educating yourself and by imposing on yourself to verify and never trust. It is always better to ask yourself 10,000 doubting questions prior to taking action, rather than royally messing it up like this. I always say that what end up costing you more is not the amount of money or data that you loose access momentarily or permanently but rather the amount of stress you will incur.... that is what will take a toll on you! Slow down, always VERIFY and then trust! ⛔ #digitalsecuritymonth
