US House Resolution 901, passed by 368 votes in favor, calls for a full and independent investigation into claims of interference in the February 8 elections in Pakistan. The resolution also demands transparency in the investigation process, accountability for any identified wrongdoers, and measures to prevent future electoral interference. Additionally, it stresses the importance of protecting democratic institutions and upholding the integrity of the electoral process. The same National Assembly, whose integrity is in question due to allegations of massive rigging, responded with a resolution stating, 'An independent and sovereign country like Pakistan will not accept any interference in its internal affairs,' terming the US resolution 'an attempt to undermine the state' and expressing the hope that in the future the US Congress will play a more constructive role in strengthening Pakistan-US bilateral relations. The realities are more controversial, complex, and complicated. It all started when the Biden Administration, particularly Antony Blinken, destroyed democracy and imposed regime change in Pakistan, leading to the destruction of human rights and atrocities against Pakistanis. Blinken was fully aligned with the Pakistan Military in this project, but since they could not impose direct military rule, they decided to launch a fake electoral process to install a cherry-picked National Assembly. Everything was going smoothly until the United States House of Representatives disrupted them, prompting their reaction. My request to Congress members is to please check the facts first. This is a Biden-imposed government and the assembly condemns you, with opposition as well as most Pakistanis opposing it. Please confront Antony Blinken before imposing sanctions on Pakistan, because in Pakistan's case, the nation is already suffering from regime change and we deserve your help. Thank you.

Appoint loyalists) 2.     Manipulate Elections (claim fraudulent elections, ask for non-existent votes, create fake electors, promote voter suppression) 3.     Concentrate Power (centralized power, consolidation of executive powers. This centralization can be justified under the guise of stability or emergency measures, like making the country great again). 4.     Control Media and Propagandize (suppress independent media, demand censors, silence dissenting voices through intimidation, legal action, or violence) 5.     Repress Political Opposition and Civil Liberties 6.     Use Force and Coercion (rouse mobs into attacking government processes like validating national elections and promote widespread fear and intimidation among the populace, based on no evidence for those fears). 7.     Change Legal Structure or Constitutional Elements (Constitution can be interpreted, amended or rewritten to extend the ruler’s power or legalize previously unlawful actions. These changes often dismantle democratic norms and entrench authoritarian rule, using some religious idea to deny citizens of their political rights.) 8.     Economic Control (The regime seizes control of the economy, using resources to reward supporters and punish detractors, thus consolidating its power base. Excessive tariffs or repudiating international alliances). Question--is any political value or belief worth a dictatorship?

Iran: What Does Pezeshkian's Win Mean?   Regardless of whether the Iranian presidential election - won by reformist candidate Masoud Pezeshkian - was legitimate or illegitimate, there are some points referring to the political and socio-political status within the regime and Iran broadly: * The election result reveals that the Iranian majority rejects Khamenei’s ideology, even amongst people who still believe in change through the regime elections. Whether the turnout in the vote was 49.8%, as the formal authorities say, or less, as the opposition reports, reformist candidate Masoud Pezeshkian’s win by all means is against the second Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. * Though the President’s powers are restricted by the powers of the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, there are courses Pezeshkian can follow in which he will be able to play a crucial role during the next four years. At the forefront of that, if Khamanei’s expected death takes place during the four years. * Meanwhile, there remains the question of why the regime in the first place allowed a reformist candidate to nominate himself for the presidency whereas many less serious candidates were barred. Probably for three key reasons: The first is to absorb the state of public anger that has been dominant for many years. The second is to bring reformists to the next hard challenge, especially if Donald Trump becomes US President. This takes us to the third reason, which is that the traditional institution, political-religious men and not the Revolutionary Guard, is trying to absorb any possible greater crisis with Washington if Trump is the President.

There is talk about the AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS pursuing a confidence and supply agreement rather than a full coalition. This means the ANC would agree with some political parties for support on important votes, particularly those concerning confidence and supply. Confidence refers to votes that determine if the government has majority support in parliament, such as votes of no confidence. Supply on the other hand involves financial votes like the budget and appropriation bills. This agreement doesn't grant the smaller party or parties ministerial positions but may involve negotiating policy concessions. If successful, this arrangement would be the best-case scenario for the ANC, given the opposition to an ANC-Democratic Alliance (DA) coalition by some within the former liberation movement. It would also allow the ANC to form and maintain a government for the next five years and possibly afford it a window of opportunity to pursue a renewal agenda in view of the recent electoral catastrophe. It remains to be seen if the ANC will have its way.

On April 19, Togolese dictator Faure Gnassingbé’s subservient National Assembly voted in favor of contentious constitutional amendments imposing a parliamentary system and ending the election of the president by universal suffrage. The changes turn the presidency into a ceremonial, six-year, single term, shifting extensive powers to a new position, the president of the Council of Ministers. Today is the deadline to register to vote in the UK. I cannot express enough how important this is. We’re all pissed off at politics and politicians for one reason or another, and voting is one of the best ways to make that heard. Don’t get me wrong, the FPTP voting system in the UK is heavily weighted in favour of Labour & Tories, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get important representation in the House of Commons. I can’t tell you who to vote for but I would really recommend voting by your principles, and not because of some idea of party loyalty or what the media tells you each party is about. There are some amazing sites that allow you to check the voting record of politicians and also allows you to see the stance that each political party takes on various topics. TheyWorkForYou (theyworkforyou dot com) is my go to recommendation for see what my MP has voted for in the past. The Tories are set for a massive loss, which means we can use this opportunity to vote in some brilliant independent and green MPs to bring truly progressive and moral politics to the room.
