Multi-lingual support for the Einstein GenAI feature in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Thats the new highlight for the Winter'25 release as per the release notes out last week. Let's check the details of it. ✅ What are Einstein GenAI features in SFMC? This feature helps Marketers generate the Email body and subject line. It takes the brand identity created by your admin and the personality you choose into account. For example, if you want to promote a new line of summer clothing for children, you can choose a playful personality. Or if your target audience is avid hikers, you can choose an adventurous personality. ✅ What's new in the Winter'25 release? Now marketers can generate the content in 6 new languages. i.e. French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish Earlier it was in English only ✅ What's next? We might see more languages added to this feature. Much more than 7 current languages. ✅ How to use it? The language setting defaults to the culture code set in your user preferences. i.e. Setup--> User--> Culture code field When you generate content in one language and then choose a different language, the content is automatcally revised. So Salesforce Marketing Cloud winter'25 release notes are out this week. One thing that caught my eye was the retirement date for the Social Studio product. Let's check it out since it has a history of its own. ✅ What is Social Studio? Social Studio is a one-stop solution[acquired by SF] to manage, schedule, create, and monitor posts in Marketing Cloud Engagement. You can organize posts by brand, region, or multiple teams and individuals in a unified interface. Social Studio offers powerful real-time publishing and engagement. ✅ When it's retiring? Social Studio is being retired on November 18, 2024, or when your existing contract ends or on November 18, 2024, whichever comes first. Your customer data will be deleted 90 days later in compliance with the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Security, Privacy, and Architecture (SPARC) documentation ✅ Why it's close to me I had learnt this product based on a new requirement & loved it. I travelled to different places to present it. I also had an attempt to pass its certification[yes it had certs as well]. ✅ What next? We all have must heard Mark's statement about 'INDIA' during his Dreamforce keynote. This was followed by another great news for SF ecosystem, from Salesforce 🇮🇳. Let's understand the specifics & importance of this announcement on the ecosystem. ✅ As per Srini Tallapragada, President, Chief Engineering Officer, SF “The big hubs, which we call the innovation hubs, are in B'lore and Hyd'bad. That's where we'll continue to invest. And we're always looking for areas. Real estate is not as easy” "Actually, when the decision was taken for Hyd'bad, in contrast to Bangalore, it was a cheaper, but still had a very deep pool of good quality resources. Now I don't think the difference is so much. Now we go where the talent is available." ✅ SF has doubled their presence in India in past two years, touching around 13,000 currently. ✅ SF has tied with AICTE to provide 2.5 lakh internships. 60k already done. This internships is of 1.5 months virtual training plus 1.5 months of on-ground training. SF has also tied up with 2500 colleges and many of the engineering colleges to facilitate it. ✅ My analysis: This indicates, SF India is expected to grow with more and more jobs in SF India, which results in a proportional job increase in the SF ecosystem. -SF is facilitating training the college grads to become job ready, which means they are helping the bottom of the pyramid as well[freshers] -They are growing where the talent lies not only in a single place. Innovation hubs. -All in all this is a great sign of Indian economy bouncing back from the job cuts & stagnation from past couple years. What's your analysis of these events? We all must be aware of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Winter'25 release dates[4-25 Oct'24] & that the release notes coming on 30th Sept'24. But they hv given some guidance on the two update coming features in this release. Lets look at them. ✅ More accurate success rates in Journeys As per release notes "The Journey History page no longer displays redundant rows or rows with empty activity names or Complete status. The History Download API also doesn't display rows with empty activity names of Complete status" -This change prevents artificial inflation of the success rate metrics shown in the Journey History analytic overview. - This is yet to be made GA[atleast on my stack] ✅ Shorten SMS Links in MobileConnect and Journey Builder As per release notes "Reduce SMS size and minimize cost by shortening SMS links with the Marketing Cloud Engagement link shortener. Measure subscriber-level engagement and campaign effectiveness through link tracking and view the detailed information in the SMS Link Clicks report" -This feature is GA since 3 Sept. I am yet to test the second feature but there hv been people in the community who have tried it & shared their views. What's your view on these two features? We all have must heard Mark Benioff's latest[Q2] earning call analysis. He mentioned the word AI ~70 times. He also spoke highly of Salesforce's AI agent/platform called Agentforce. But did you hear about his comments on Microsoft copilot? Let's hear that story vis a via Agentforce context. ✅ What did he say? -He said that so many customers are disappointed by MS copilot since its missing accuracy & response. -MS has done a disservice to the emerging AI field by emphasizing an investment in models over platform. -MS has convinced many customers and others to customize their LLMs. ✅ Instead what's he proposing -Platform approach instead of customising models. -SF models don’t need training or retraining. Use a platform like SF to get the highest efficacy of AI, the best capability to fully automate your company, achieve all of your goals, plus with a professional enterprise software. -He is proposing AI agents called Agentforce, which are “not copilots” but act as autonomous agents, more accurate and are set up in minutes. -Agents don't require a conversational prompt to take action, and you can do advanced planning, reasoning with minimal human input. -The goal is to hit 1 billion agents by the end of fiscal year 2026. The forecast is for thousands of customers on Agentforce by the beginning of next fiscal year. ✅ How has Microsoft responded? -They refuted Mark's comments by saying that "“Every customer is at a different place in their journey, but overall we are hearing something quite different from our Copilot for Microsoft 365 customers. -Last quarter alone, we saw a customer increase of over 60 percent, and daily users have more than doubled – a clear indicator of Copilot's value in the market -As per various CIOs and recent third-party data, organizations are betting on Microsoft for their AI transformation. ✅ Customers count -As per the report quoted here: Microsoft has more than 400,000 partners worldwide and Salesforce has about 12,000. We all know that there are multiple ways of copying data from one to DE to another DE in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. But in a recent release, Salesforce introduced another feature within Automation studio to copy data between DEs. Let's understand the details of it. ✅ How can you copy data between DEs in SFMC? -via SQL activity[code] -via Contact Builder-->Imports[config] -via SSJS[code, not recommended] ✅ What's the change? Import File activity in Automation studio has been updated with a new feature to copy DE and named as Data Copy or Import activity. Now users can copy data between DEs with this activity. ✅ Why SF is doing it? They already have OOTB feature within Connect Builder for the same operation ,so adding it within Automation studio means they want people to use it more often? We all know that in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Limits are on everything and they are categorized as Soft & Hard limits. Going by the new announcements, #sfmc will change the Data retention limits. Let's try & understand What & Why of it. ✅ What are SFMC limits: In SFMC, there are limits on the following things broadly: API calls (hard and soft limits), Data retention, Emails, Database queries, Email/SMS (i.e. Super Messages*), MCP ✅ What's the change? As of January 15, 2025, Subscriber and Journey engagement data will be retained for the last 180 days.   This applies to Email Studio Reports in Analytics Builder, Tacking reports in Email Studio, Tracking Extracts in Automation Studio, SOAP API requests. Earlier we could extract data from the beginning of the org via Tracking extract, and APIs. ✅ Why SF is doing it? The key reason is that SF is moving its infra to an external provider like AWS [Hyperforce]. And you might know AWS charges you everything :)   As per SF, they are doing "To democratize usage of their services, customers with lower usage shouldn’t subsidize those customers with more complex use cases or higher consumption." ✅ Where you can read more about it? Did you hear about the important partnership announcement made by Salesforce & Workday last month?? They announced 'personalized AI assistant for employee service use cases'. Lets understand what & why of it. ✅ Why & what's the benefit? This will help employers to use Salesforce Service Agent bots can respond to employee questions about HR and finance like PTO, Healthcare etc. For complex queries it will be passed to humans/employees Slack users can also engage with the AI assistant via Slack as Workday will be natively integrated inside the collaborations platform. Employers can also do more precise workforce planning by quickly assessing employee skillsets in Workday and matching them with the demand highlighted within Salesforce’s data. Workday users may also leverage Salesforce forecasts to monitor whether they are on track to meet financial objectives and engage in continuous planning. ✅ Advantage for Salesforce It supports Mark's vision for the collaborations platform as a business’s HQ to deliver customer and employee success from anywhere. ✅ Advantage for Workday  Workday gets to leverage the investments Salesforce has already made in AI and Einstein Service Agents, so it doesn’t have to build them itself. ✅ How it will done? Both the companies will establish a common data foundation that centralizes CRM, HR, and financial data. Workday will leverage the Salesforce Zero Copy Partner Network.
