Wine and cider makers are committed to sustainable practices, from soil health to eco-friendly farming. 🌿 But did you ever consider about the role the packaging of your favourite beverages also plays in sustainability? ♻️ Glass bottles, while recyclable, are heavy and contribute to up to 40% of the carbon footprint due to transportation. Many craft ciders now come in lightweight cans or bottles that are easily recyclable. Winemakers are also exploring sustainable alternatives like lighter-weight glass, Tetra Paks, single-serving pouches, and aluminum bottles. 🍷🍏 As conscious consumers and producers, let's support these eco-friendly packaging options to reduce our carbon footprint and preserve our planet. 🌍 📖 Read more about sustainable packaging on our blog: https://lnkd.in/e6CM8wGZ #SustainablePackaging #EcoFriendly #Sustainability #SavvyCompany

We're proud to be embarking on our 4th year as a B Corp. March is B Corp Month and this year’s campaign champions the B Corp community and the way they view their businesses as a perpetual work in progress, asking them to share how they plan to keep growing their impact in the future. Being a B Corp is all about using business as a force for good for all – something that really resonates for our business. We asked our MD, Ian Balmforth, to share his thoughts about what B Corp means for our customers and products. Ian says: “I genuinely believe that business can be a force for good. The ethos and practices embodied by the B Corp guidelines are things we would strive towards as a responsible employer and producer, even if B Corp didn’t exist. But the rigorous processes and careful thinking we must evidence in order to be certified are a brilliant structure we can use to guide us." There's a link to Ian's blog that explains four key elements of our B Corp practices: people, power, plastics and provenance. If you’re interested to find out more about Equinox Organic’s B Corp commitments, there’s an in-depth report in the Community section of our website, compiled by our brilliant Sustainability Lead, Genevieve Boast, who works closely with the whole team at Equinox HQ. https://lnkd.in/eAiVVQG7

Achieving sustainability is a collaborative effort, involving every stakeholder. "The industry as a whole must work together to find solutions for three issues in particular: first of all we must be sustainable, second, we must produce a high-quality fruit, regardless of how you do it, the fruit must arrive in good condition to the consumer so that they keep buying. Finally, each producer must establish marketing programs focused on growing the number of consumers, this way we can all be successful." From water conservation to social responsibility, we're committed to a greener future. 👉 Join the conversation and be a part of the change!
