🎶📚 Did you know there's a fascinating connection between auditory processing and literary development? 🤔 Let's explore this intriguing link! 👂 Listening Skills: Strong auditory processing abilities are essential for understanding spoken language. Children with well-developed auditory processing skills can better comprehend stories, instructions, and conversations, laying a solid foundation for literacy. 📖 Vocabulary Growth: Research suggests that children who are adept at processing auditory information tend to have larger vocabularies. This expanded word bank enhances their reading comprehension and writing abilities as they encounter more complex texts. 🔊 Phonological Awareness: Auditory processing skills play a crucial role in phonological awareness—the ability to recognize and manipulate sounds in language. Proficiency in phonological awareness correlates with improved reading and spelling skills. 🧠 Brain Development: Engaging with auditory stimuli through listening to stories, songs, and conversations stimulates various areas of the brain involved in language processing and comprehension. This, in turn, supports overall cognitive development. 📚 Early Literacy Activities: Activities that strengthen auditory processing, such as rhyming games, sound discrimination exercises, and storytelling, can enhance literacy skills in young children. These playful interactions lay the groundwork for future academic success. By nurturing auditory processing skills through interactive and enriching experiences, we can foster a love for language and literature in children, unlocking a world of possibilities for their literary development. 🌟 Let's continue to explore and celebrate the fascinating connections between the senses and learning! 📚✨ #AuditoryProcessing #LiteracyDevelopment #EarlyLearning #LanguageSkills #ReadingRocks #EducateAndServe

AI and Academic Writing ✍️ Interesting research presentation here, I agree that teachers need to change their approach by building confidence in learners to rely on their style of writing and less reliance on ChatGpt. I had an Academic Writing class where our teacher didn’t discourage the use of AI totally especially for guides, one might not have thought of in an essay. However, I think language assessment should now focus more on localised creativity such as giving in-class learning-based assignments based on personal reflections on topics taught. In this way, over-reliance on AI will be minimised and students and teachers will be more creative in the class. I’m still open to learning more about how to help students utilise AI to improve writing rather than dubbing. Enjoy the presentation and would like to have your thoughts 👍

Just out: Using SmartPLS for Structural Equation Modeling in Applied Linguitics: A Method Note by: Hessameddin Ghanbar in Educational Methods and Psychometrics Despite the burgeoning number of structural equation modeling (SEM) studies and methodological complexities in Applied Linguistics (AL) research, current SEM practices in the field are devoid of variety when it comes to using statistical software programs (see Ghanbar & Rezvani, 2023). To boost the methodological rigor of AL studies regarding using SEM software programs, in this paper we aimed to introduce a less frequently used, yet powerful SEM program, SmartPLS, which, despite its widespread use in other fields like management and marketing research, has less frequently been exploited in AL. open access: https://lnkd.in/dJPFT3wm
