For Covert Recruiting's B-Day Week, I want to talk about the DOZENS of hires we helped make in 2023. Versatility was how we describe last year. While our big three focus areas continued to lead the way (accounting/finance, marketing/creative, and logistics), we placed people in sales roles, tech & admin support, data analysis, recruiting, and HR. Our team is always open to new things and can shift quickly. We're not always going to keep our focus narrow and on only one single thing (which is fine if you do, some firms are superrrr specialized.) We're rarely stumped by a search, and we'll research and dig and call and hunt until we find the right person for the role. Any role. I mean, that's our service, to find the hard-to-find. If you have something that's tricky or urgent, give me a call. We'll find a couple unicorns if you need. We have some bandwidth for new partnerships. I can tell you about how we've filled 21 out of 24 roles with one client. 15 out of 16 at another, 14 out of 17 at another... Looking for your next role? Is there any chance that your resume/cover letter/InMail/description/Bio begins with "18+ years of experience in ...."? If so, may I suggest an alternative? A slight tweak to the effect of (totally making up the following numbers) "300% growth in 2 new products lines/ 37% increase in customer retention/boost customer happiness by 43%/etc over 18 years in Marketing/Sales/Customer Success..." The difference will be appreciated by the person reading your resume. Every time someone starts their description with "16+ years experience" I have to fight really hard to pay attention to the next few words. Why is this? For starters, I have a nano attention span. You just told me this is going to be a long story and I am already bored. More importantly, having your butt in a seat for over a decade within an industry doesn't tell me anything. It tells me you were there. What did you do while you were there? Are you planning to just show up if I hire you? Or are you bringing something that our team needs? Hiring managers are people first. Please help us to hire you. Thank you.
