September is Suicide Prevention Month – a topic that is hard to discuss. Suicide is a leading cause of death globally. Physician suicide rates are also climbing. Now is the time to raise awareness, have open conversations regarding mental health, and help prevent it. If you know someone is struggling mentally... ask, listen, and encourage them. They can also dial 988 or visit https://hubs.li/Q02Rygqv0 for resources and someone to talk to. Every life matters! 💙 #suicideawareness #suicideprevention #suicidepreventionmonth

Since losing my beloved dad and dear cousin to suicide in the past year, 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 has taken on a profoundly personal meaning for me. 💔 Suicide remains a topic too often shrouded in silence and stigma, but we must break that silence and have open, honest conversations about mental health. We must let others know it’s okay to not be okay, and that help is always available. To anyone out there who might be struggling, please know this: you are not alone. Please reach out to someone you trust, or seek professional support. Your life matters.🫶 Suicide prevention isn't just the responsibility of professionals; we all have a role to play. Whether by listening without judgment, offering a kind word or simply being present, each of us can make a difference. Sometimes, asking, "How are you really doing?" can change everything. Let’s stand together in creating a world where mental health is treated with the care, compassion, and importance it deserves. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #WeAllHaveARoleToPlay #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone #CheckInOnYourLovedOnes

One suicide is too many. It’s always a tragedy when someone feels like suicide is the solution. It’s also devastating for their loved ones that are left behind. A sadness that never leaves you. In a world where there seems to be more and more pressure each day, it’s important that we come together and normalise asking for make that help and support easily accessible. There are some fantastic organisations that can help in the comments below 👇. Our mental health affects how we THINK, FEEL and ACT. Let the act be asking for help ❤️ We will be shouting that from the rooftops in all our prevention and awareness programmes this year. Not only that, we discuss what steps are needed after asking for help. It’s important if you ever feel that way that you ask for help and follow that up with professional help and support. Whatever you’re experiencing and feeling now, won’t last forever. But you don’t have to do it alone ❤️ #Support #Treatment #SuicidePreventionDay #Think #Feel #Act #MentalHealth #WHYSUP

Yesterday was Suicide Awareness Day, and like many I am thinking about friends lost to suicide and taking a moment to reflect on my own mental health. The theme for Suicide Awareness Day this year is “Creating Hope Through Action,” and it’s a powerful message that we all have it in us to make a difference. As a starter... 💙Lets talk openly about mental health and help break down the stigma - it’s okay not to be okay! 💙Take a moment in your day to ask somehow how they are doing, and take time to really listen. This could open up a life-saving conversation, and help someone feel heard and valued. You don't have to have the answers, you just need to be there for them in that moment. 💙A small act of kindness can change someone's day. It doesn't have to be anything big, hold a door open, thank the person that serves your coffee, leave a positive review. 💙 Remember we all deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported. 💙 #SuicideAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthMatters #CreatingHopeThroughAction #LAMH #FoodForThoughtCafeandWellbeingCentre
