Thank you, Vivia Chen, for writing such insightful analyses - no matter what the subject. This one in particular is a keeper for anyone who cares about parity. We have often played the switch it up game, so consider if you will for a moment, whether her potentially benefitting from him financially would have been a question if the roles were reversed. Would anyone have asked whether he (if he were the prosecutor) was having his bills paid by her? Thoughts welcome. https://lnkd.in/ew_2xxCy

This all depends if you have a Will in place. If you don’t… Then this is correct. If you die without leaving a Will, your ex-partner may still have parental responsibility for your child if they are the child's other parent. However, they won't automatically become the trustee of your estate. Instead, if you have not appointed a trustee in your will, the court may appoint someone to manage the child's inheritance until they reach 18. This could be your ex-partner if they are deemed suitable by the court and if it's in the child's best interest. It's important to have a clear Will that outlines your wishes for your child's guardianship and inheritance to avoid uncertainty and potential disputes. But don’t stress, this can easily be sorted by putting a valid Will in place 😊 Speak to our qualified Solicitor, Farah, to find out more! 📧farah@fcmlegaldrafting.com #estateplanning #wills #trusts #LPA #powerofattorney #financialfuture #family

That he is richer, doesn't mean he is the best parent for your child. This statement was made in a movie I watched, where separated parents were fighting over custody of their daughter. The father was wealthy, while the mother was less well-off. At one point, the mother lost custody to the father. When she sought advice, someone told her that money alone doesn't make someone the best parent. In custody disputes, the court's main goal is to protect the child's best interests and while a parent's financial capacity is one factor the court considers, it is not the only one. The court also considers factors like the availability of the parent, the child's age, the emotional and physical capacity of a parent to care for the child, the ability to provide a stable and supportive environment, the parent's lifestyle, the existing relationship with the child, and the child's own preference (if they are mature enough) are also important and others. In the movie, the mother eventually got her daughter back because she was able to prove that, while the father was rich, he was physically and emotionally unavailable. He barely had time to see their daughter and often left her in the care of his aged mother. So, while it is important to be able to financially provide for your child, it is not the only thing that makes one a good parent. If you are in a situation like this, please seek counsel. Speak to a lawyer, a trusted advisor to explore your options. Or do you think that only financial buoyancy is enough to take care of a child? Share your thought with me in the comments. If we expect that people have paid their debt to society after they serve time, then why do criminal records continue to negatively impact their lives long after their sentences end? This #WellbeingWednesday, we're highlighting the story of Sheena Meade, who now serves as CEO of the Clean Slate Initiative. Stories like Sheena's are not unique. After more than a decade since the end of her sentence, her criminal record limits her access to wellbeing. The Clean Slate Initiative's vision is for everyone in America to have a fair opportunity to work, a safe home, the ability to take care of their families and contribute to their community. Access to wellbeing is severely limited after being sentenced or convicted of a crime. The Clean Slate Initiative works to expand and automate the sealing of arrest and conviction records after people have completed their sentence and remained crime-free for a period of time, all in support of a fair shot at redemption and wellbeing.

😟Could your family access your assets if you were no longer here? If not, your hard-earned money will be handed over to the government; it’s the law. This is called “unclaimed property,” and it can be a major issue without proper estate planning. 📄 This week’s article explores how to ensure your assets go to the people you want, rather than to your State’s Treasury Department. 👉 Read the blog today. ➡ https://lnkd.in/dMJmgPJ8 #debbiebabblaw #estateplan #assetprotection #wealthprotection #wealthbuilding #trustsandwills #losangelesestateplan #CAestateplanningattorney #losangelesattorney #familybusiness #smallbusiness #family #familylegacy #personalfamilylawyer #personalfamilylawyerCA #losangelespersonalfamilylawyer #generationalwealth #multigenerationlawyer #peaceofmind #adulting #specialneedsplanning #specialneedstrust #specialneedsadvocate #parenting #familylegacy #guardian #businessplanning #avoidprobate #losangelesmom #CAmom

Great article on how corrupt and broken #CPS and #familycourt is!! A big congratulations to the mom for being able to hold dad responsible for his #falseallegations and #parentalalienation. It’s a tragedy that she couldn’t hold CPS, the courts, and the CFI accountable too. It's love for someone to show me an article about a dad who was falsely accused winning a verdict against the mom. I'd love even more to see an article when CPS and the courts are held accountable. One thing the author, @ChrisOsher, gets wrong is suggesting that this mostly only happens to moms. Chris has been misled by the anti-alienation feminists that has people believing PA is only a legal defense abusive men use to win custody from protective mothers. Despite the wealth of science, data, and evidence that says PA is real, Chris choose to accept the lies from those trying to convince him otherwise, based on a single paper formatted as a scientific study, that was widely debunked, as the truth. BTW, 72% of the children who die at the hands of a parent, die at the hands of the mom and or her new partner. Just one of the many problems with journalist today. They aren’t willing to do the research and ignore the facts and data. Why is it easy to believe that a mom can be victimized and a dad can't? https://lnkd.in/dZxZPPpE Susan Bassi Julie Haskell Maryann Petri Connie Reguli James Sisco Bill Corbitt Michael E.
