The incidence of NTM pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) is rising globally. Diagnostic challenges persist and treatment efficacy is variable. This article provides an overview of NTM-PD for clinicians. We discuss how common it is, who is at risk, how it is diagnosed and the multidisciplinary approach to its clinical management.

Today I learned about Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) during a workshop focused on their application in epidemiology and public health research. It was useful to explore how DAGs can be used to identify confounders, minimize bias, and clarify causal relationships in health studies. DAGs offer a visual and analytical method to map out and understand the intricate pathways, providing a clearer picture of how different factors are interconnected. Our work on constructing a DAG for acute Hepatitis B infection highlighted the direct risk factors and shed light on the underlying structures that could potentially skew research findings if not properly accounted for. However, increased attention has recently been directed toward its impact on adult individuals about covering its epidemiology, clinical presentation, lab findings, treatment, outcomes, and etc (Iranian adults). #myasthenia gravis epidemiology has been studied quite extensively for a rare disease, and over the years our understanding of its immunological characteristics, diagnosis and treatment has increased. In this post, I look at some of the pitfalls in meta-analyzing epidemiological data in these circumstances, and further validate and report recent prevalence estimates at the national and subnational level.
