March 27 is Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE) Awareness Day. AFE is a rare, but life-threatening complication of pregnancy that demands attention and understanding from our communities. AFE affects 1 in 40,000 pregnancies and is a sudden and unexpected life-threatening birth complication that can affect both mother and baby. Help spread awareness and support those affected by AFE. Research is needed to better understand the cause to develop a way to predict, prevent, and treat to save lives of moms and their babies.
