Freelancers: How to win when responding to contract posts on LinkedIn Avoid something that puts the action on them: 'I'm interested' Make it as simple as possible for the recruiter, whether it's actually a recruiter, a direct post by an agency or anyone. You will get ahead by immediately answering: - Your relevant experience - Your availability - Your rate You don't need to do that on the post, you can do that in email or DM - which is typically how they will have asked you to contact them. By answering those questions without waiting for a conversation, you're ahead of others who share a generic 'I saw your post and I'd love to help'. I've searched for many freelancers, with very little time, and those who offer this info straight away can be filtered through much faster. #freelance #freelancelife #freelancers #contractor #contractors #selfemployed

Top-Rated+ Upwork Virtual Assistant || Multifaceted Virtual Assistant & Virtual Support Specialist || Email & Chat Support Pro || 2x Salesforce Certified Admin || Cloud Computing Support Professional (In Training)
𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁)? I was scrolling through Upwork to see if there were any jobs I could send proposals to. An Admin Assistant job posting by this person popped up. I checked the job descriptions, all of which were within my strengths. Next, I decided to do my due diligence on the client before sending a proposal. I discovered that... Not only does this client have just a 32% hire rate, but he has hired over 240 freelancers and only paid out $8.6K. This is a red flag for me. The client practically screams "Peanut client 2.0" Although no longer interested in sending a proposal, to satisfy my curiosity, I checked their past payments, and as expected, they were peanuts! I see this kind of client as a user who exploits freelancers. If you were in my shoes, would you have proceeded with sending a proposal anyway? #VirtualAssitantServices #Freelancing #Upwork #AdminAssistant

SEEKING ADVICE FROM EXPERIENCED UPWORK PROFESSIONALS I'm struggling to understand how some freelancers quickly secure spots among the top 5 applicants on job posts. Aside from bidding, what strategies do you employ? I've noticed job posts with 0-5 proposals suddenly receive 20-30 applications within minutes. How do you manage to respond so swiftly and effectively? Please kindly share in the comments. #FreelanceLife#Freelancing#RemoteWork#IndependentContractor#SelfEmployed#Upwork#UpworkFreelancers#UpworkTips#UpworkSuccess#UpworkCommunity#JobSearch#CareerAdvice #ProductivityHacks

💡 Thought of the day: Should Upwork charge clients to post jobs? 🤔 I came across a debate on Reddit discussing whether clients should pay to post jobs on platforms like Upwork. The argument is that it could reduce spam and low-quality job posts, benefiting serious freelancers. As someone deeply involved in the freelance world, I see both sides. On one hand, charging could improve job quality. On the other hand, it might scare away legitimate clients. What do you think? Would love to hear your thoughts! 💬

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 Upwork: 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟! What I've learned: Check job postings meticulously and only bid on projects you are certain you can handle. My strategy involves confidently stating, "I can do this" and specifying a realistic timeframe. Your profile is crucial; if it catches the client's eye, half the battle is won. In conversations, address any client queries and showcase your expertise. My advice to freelancers: Don't squander time and money by sending numerous proposals. Upwork is ideal for experts, so be selective. Recently, I sent a proposal without using Boost, featuring a simple cover letter, and got hired. I've shifted my mindset to sending fewer proposals (around 5 per month) but ensuring they align with my skills and confidence level. The positive outcome? A client referral to their partners and friends due to the quality of my work. Today, I sent just one proposal, and the client hired me. No elaborate language—just straightforward communication. My plea to freelancers: Focus on quality over quantity, and you'll see the results. Thanks!
