Traffix has plenty to offer in terms of career building. Traffic Management Operative Shannon Cotton has already been working her way up our Stepped Career Path, and can see many opportunities to progress. See what Shannon thinks of her time here so far, then visit https://lnkd.in/eVFTy9qB to apply for a position with us… ——————————————— Meet the #TraffixCrew Shannon Cotton - Traffic Management Operative Q: Where did you start? A: I found out about the role through one of my friends who works at Traffix. My initial induction and training were very thorough and enjoyable. I learned pretty quickly what the company ethos is and what would be expected of me to maintain the high standards Traffix expect. I am relatively early into my career at Traffix, but my impressions so far are very favourable. Q: What is your role? A: I am part of the team of Traffic Management Operatives that supports one of our large client contracts for highway repairs and improvements. I arrive at the office for my shift, find out where I will be and what the job entails, then the van is loaded with the equipment required and we drive to the job. Once there I will set the job up, carry out whatever the duties are for the day, then it’s a case of taking the job down and back to the office. Q: Where do you see myself next at Traffix? A: There is a lot more to Traffic Management than I first thought. There are so many opportunities to progress at Traffix, it would be nice to keep moving up the ladder and build a career here. I have already started to progress through the ticket levels which helps your earning potential. Q: Why Traffix? A: I chose Traffix because of the professional way in which the interview process was handled and the career path was very interesting, plus everyone was really nice from the moment I walked through the door. I would say the most enjoyable part of the job is the people I work with, being a Traffic Management Operative is a good job, but the team makes it even better. ------------------------------ #TrafficManagement #Recruitment #Careers #CareerOpportunities #Birmingham #Telford #Derby #Midlands #Shropshire #Derbyshire #Jobs

REASON #5: Low ego. Big fun. At Relay, we don’t take ourselves seriously—just the work we’re doing to help the SMBs of America. We’re a low-ego workplace, which means a multitude of things for our team: ✅ More collaboration. Less competition. (Unless it’s a game of soccer.) ✅ A courageous space for big risks. Ask questions, learn, make mistakes. No one’s judging. Just learning. ✅ Be the champion for SMBs. Something that can only be achieved if we’re working for the greater good. Not personal gain. There’s a plethora of other reasons we choose to check the ego, but we’d rather you experience the benefits than read them. That’s right. We’re #HIRING 📣 77 roles fit for team players just like you. We pass the baton. You run the Relay. Ready, set, apply ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gqZDPpz4 #Design #Marketing #Sales #Engineering #NowHiring #WorkAtRelay

Still on the hunt for my next administrative role in Tucson... The marvels of modern efficiency! Is it normally slow for entry-level applicants to process through this well-thought-out strategy... Perhaps its to test the candidate's unparalleled patience and resilience. After all, who wouldn't want to hire someone who can endure eternal pause for a simple job application? Perhaps there are those who believe that time spent waiting is directly proportional to the candidate's dedication and enthusiasm. Or maybe it's all a genius plan to make sure only the most persistent souls make it through the hiring gates. Either way, bravo to the masterminds behind this ingenious method of selecting the crème de la crème of the entry-level workforce!

I've been busy interviewing a lot of people for Laborer and HEO roles. ❔️ I always ask, "What do you enjoy most and what are you good at?" The MOST common answer from young and old alike is some variation of, "I love working with my hands and seeing the finished product, seeing the transformation I helped create working hard with a team." So, make absolutely no mistake - there are lots of people who want to work, lots of people who love this work for what it is! Young people who think this work is cool and old-timers who want to stay in the game for as long as their bodies will allow. ❔️ I also always ask, "What do you enjoy least or find most challenging or frustrating?" ↖️↗️ This is where the generations diverge. The younger ones hate being yelled at and being expected to sink or swim. They want to feel competent and to be successful. They want to learn. They crave mentorship. The older folks, reflecting on longer careers, most commonly express regret for lack of balance. They don't mind working hard, but long hours and travel have kept them from their families. They're proud to have been able to provide, but they've missed a lot, and can't get that time back. What this means for hiring: If you don’t have a mentorship culture, change it, and then promote the hell out of it! 📣 If you haven't figured out how to balance schedules, find a way and then promote the hell out of it! 📣 If you already have these things figured out, know that a lot of your competitors haven't yet. Promote the hell out of it! 📣 If you dont, how will your future hires know? 👂👀 📸: Banks Construction Company | Kayla Roberson ***** P.S. Time and tickets are running out for the November 4-6 Ariat Dirt World Summit in San Antonio. I promise, if you are in or around the industry, you don’t want to miss it. Use code Armstrong10 for discounted tickets. 🤘 #betterdirtworld #construction #hiring #recruiting #marketing #people
