After another thorough investigation it is surprising how the elephant in the room called realistic safety independence onboard a fully modern passenger ship, is only mainly restricted in lub oil levels etc. The fact that ship's brand new ultra modern life boats were -correctly- considered dangerous to use as to evacuate an ocean going vessel seems totally accepted and not considered of major importance. It is beyond sense to once again realize that we may stick in the mosquito but accept to swallow a camel, the question though remains apparent. Should, we Captains continue to sail the high seas on a fully compliant ship knowing that our most important safety redundancy mean is not in reality usable the most crucial time? And if we should do so, how shall we handle commercial pressure that is never officially mentioned but fully evident, whatsoever. Or we can then be all satisfied when the next accident investigation report will conclude as major factor the famous solution for everything, called human error?
