MECH-iF is the new air source chiller from 345 to 921 kW, available with R1234ze or R513A refrigerant and with brand new proprietary screw variable speed compressors. The MECH-iF range is a milestone in MEHITS’ air source screw chiller portfolio, paving the way for the development and integration of proprietary core technologies. Both ranges have been designed to provide unprecedented seasonal efficiencies, with SEER values up to 5,9 and SEPR HT up to 6,8. These performance values makes MECH-iF a flagship product that is very competitive in the top-performing air source chiller market. New MS Compressors — MECH-iF features one or two MS single screw compressors with external inverter, both fully designed and developed by Mitsubishi Electric. The optimized design and patented oil management system grants long-lasting quality and high seasonal efficiencies. The Variable Vi technology allows the automatic internal volume ratio adaption by integrated Vi slide valve, to make the MS compressor efficient in any working condition. State-of-the-Art Technological Solutions— The in-house developed Red Cooler, a patented technological solution that improves the efficiency of the unit and reduces the exergy loss of the expansion phase. EC fans with high efficiency housing are provided per standard, to perfectly achieve varying air flow requirements & reduce energy consumption, improving the efficiency of the unit. Acoustical Configurations— MECH-iF is available with different acoustic set-ups to meet any requirement in terms of quietness. The unit is provided per standard with compressors’ enclosure, achieving the most of noise-sensitive environment requirements without compromising the footprint. Wide Operating Range— MECH-iF can operate with outdoor temperature down to -20°C and up to 50°C and chilled water temperature from 20°C down to -10°C. The operating map of MECH-iF-G04 makes it suitable for all applications (Comfort, Process, and IT Cooling), while MECH-iF-G05 is perfectly suitable and gives its best in Comfort and Process applications. Partial Recovery Version— MECH-iF is also available in a -D partial recovery version, with an additional heat exchanger on the compressor discharge line to produce hot water up to 60°C. A Complete Mitsubishi Electric Cooling Package— Hyperscale and Colocation data centers can now be cooled down by the Mitsubishi Electric MECH-iF-G04 units and the new MEWALL, the chilled water indoor air conditioner, consolidating the experience of MEHITS in the field of Data Center air conditioning. Numerous Configurability Options— MECH-iF chillers have been designed with easy installation and lean maintenance in mind. An extensive array of accessories can be provided for a tailor-made set-up, making the range also suitable for mission critical and harsh condition installations.

Here we have the latest leak test module (LTM) currently being built at one of our Manchester manufacturing facilities. The leak test module features the vacuum test chamber which has been designed to test four of the type 4 hydrogen storage tanks simultaneously. Once the 4 tanks have been automatically loaded into the chamber by a series of conveyors, the first part of the test pulls a vacuum, checking for a gross leak on the tank up to 20 bar. Once the gross leak check is complete the product is fuelled before being held at high pressure to undergo the test. Once complete, the hydrogen pressure vessels are defueled in stages, partly within the vacuum chamber and then the majority of the defuel occurring at external defueling stations. As the world drives towards a greener future, away from fossil-fuelled vehicles, our VES New Energies division has developed and produced effective high volume production line leak detection systems for testing the next generation of high pressure hydrogen fuel tanks, contributing to a sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-derived transportation.
