The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has exposed the ineffectiveness of current defence tactics against small UAV threats again. Easily accessible cheap drone technology has given new strengths to all kinds of adversaries. And its not just about border security, think about potential destruction a well equipped drone can cause in civilian areas or to any critical infrastructure. I am writing as an Anafi Ai user. Parrot Anafi Ai is a modern UAS, easy to use with its software and environment. Anafi Ai needs EU certification. I read on Parrot's website that work is to adapt Anafi Ai to EASA regulations ER-2019/945 and ER-2019/947 ongoing. The EU-C1 certification, which is to be obtained at the beginning of 2024, seems to be insufficient considering the technical capabilities of Anafi Ai. Among the many advantages are (-4G connectivity, - Worldwide LTE compatibility, Real time streaming with 12 Mbps video). EU-C2 certification could make Anafi Ai a 100% professional drone. The Parrot Anafi USA drone is also great. The problem is that this drone does not have an EU certificate. This qualifies the Parrot Anafi USA to fly over fields and race birds. So, why such advanced software and environment for this drone? Looking at the way things are going, - Sometimes it seems that these EU regulations, these new scenarios, and classifications of drones are made for companies from the Middle Kingdom. Europe is losing to companies from outside our continent. I read that now there is no drone produced in the EU on the list of certified drones - Terrifying!!!
