They won’t understand how hard you work to keep your sh*t together under fire. 🔥 The multiple balls in the air. The constant pressure. 😩 The never-ending slew of deliverables and to-dos. But I know what you do. I see you. 👀 I see you because I *am* you. And your work matters. It moves markets. 📈 It shapes categories. Public Relations; The Career is Contrast. With a name that seeks to establish goodwill of understanding between the Publics and organizations, a dire contrast paints. An opposite of what it truly is. Public Relations' end goal is about Reputation management through Truth communication for an understanding whereas it suffers the trust and perception deficiency-a negative indexing of sorts. Dare I say that P.R. our beloved career field has the worst reputation. It is well known for its cover ups, maskings, and Spin for a favorable image. Wait! this is for those who understand nothing about the Discipline. Interestingly, in the court of public opinion, they are the majority. So do they win or we borrow a leaf from Goebbels' playbook to make them understand us or do we just let them think what they want? Those who want to know will seek?

Here are a few tips for those starting their first job in Public Relations.  What's the best Advice you were given? Starting your first job in Public Relations? Congratulations. This new chapter in your career could bring various challenges and opportunities. Let's dive into a few tips to help you kick-start your PR journey with confidence. Drafting press releases will become second nature to you. Remember always to be accurate, factual, and relevant! Ask yourself who your target audience is and what makes them tick. Also, keep it newsworthy, short, and sharp for the busy journalist's eye. You will be juggling multiple accounts, so strong organisational skills are a must. Start your day with a to-do list, keep your team in the loop, and manage expectations realistically. Presentations will become a crucial part of your role. With practice and time, your presenting skills will grow. Remember to be yourself, keep the audience engaged, and deliver your key messages clearly. Finally, the art of account management is a cornerstone of agency work. Learn to adapt to the person you are dealing with, understand their needs, and always be honest. It's about building strong relationships! Remember, these are just the first steps in your journey. Soon, you'll become one of the most trusted advisors in your field.
