🙌 My long-term and extensive work experience has given me valuable tips on partnership success. Here are my key takeaways for 2024: ✅ Build your personal brand Your Social Networks, Services, and Consultancy must enable successful cross-collaboration across multiple roles and partner types. ✅ Follow your partners and donors Meet your partners and donors where they are (social networks, conferences, ads, grants) and support the partners they choose. ✅ Monitor partner interactions and measure project indicators The old ways of managing partnerships and projects are outdated. The modern partner relationship management process will monitor, measure and optimise the hundreds of various touchpoints in the project journey, not just the results. 🩷 Thanks to my team Ukraine Investment & Trade Facilitation Center (ITFC) & Women IN for the fantastic growth in our capacity building. Also, thanks to the initiatives and projects that inspire us to move forward and support us on this journey 🤝 USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) UN Women UN Women Europe and Central Asia Глобальний договір ООН в Україні LifeLine Ukraine.org Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office (Ukraine) Diia.Business Stichting Chill Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine TAK. Building Connectedness / Empowering Visionary Ventures & Growth of Unconventional Entrepreneurial Leaders
I always like to give credits to one of my best friends and someone who has been offering me her guidance all along (who is not on LinkedIn) as she keeps telling me: We are more than our genders. I jus started to understand what this means as this requires first sensing, acknowledging and recognizing all the layers of "does and donts", the expectations, the social norms and conducts that each of us is called to abide to. And even more importantly, this means really experiencing and feeling in oneself how these social constructs aka gender roles in this case are serving us in attaining what we really want to achieve and who we want to be - that goes beyond everything that we are told about how we need to behave on the basis of whether we are born as women, men, she, he, they... Gender roles have always been a matter of negotiation. There is momentum now to overcome the gender definitions and roles that hinder our full contribution to environmental, social and economic development. We can achieve more equity and better economies through practices of diverse leadership that elevates others, democratizes decision-making and that enables autonomy, the creation of value leaving behind patronizing and patriarchal behavior that is failing us and our economies. Thank you Danas and Milos Obradovic for the opportunity to share how "She knows" - Economic empowerment of women project supported by USAID Mission intends to use the momentum and its great partners' coalition to build practices enabling more equity in companies' governance, helping women in Serbia to strengthen skills matching the job market and to develop their businesses.
New interview with our co-founder Gaia Montelatici (she/her) is available on our local newspaper Danas, online and printed 🔔 Gaia is here to announce that Impact Hub Belgrade is starting their own project called "Ona zna" funded by USAID Serbia, and together with partners AmCham Serbia, UN Women Serbia, Centar za Razvoj Jablaničkog i Pčinjskog Okruga and Erste Banka Srbija. Read the full story on the link below. 🎯 She talks about how women today need more encouragement when it comes to starting their own business, moreover how they are led to believe that they are just not good enough for the leading positions. The level of confidence vary from place to place, especially when we compare big cities to small towns, and even if we have more initiatives for women economic empowerment that ever, the support is still very much needed. 🌐 #impacthub

Unlocking Africa's Potential: Youth and Women in Governance Experience brings wisdom, but leadership potential thrives in diverse voices. We recognize that traditional structures in African politics haven't always nurtured this diversity. Many talented young minds and women feel their ideas haven't had a platform. The rise of information technology opens exciting doors for a more inclusive future. We're passionate about creating a space where energetic young leaders and brilliant women can actively participate in shaping our dynamic democracies. Let's envision an Africa where fresh perspectives enrich policy and governance. Join us on June 13th at 6:00pm WAT for a thought-provoking discussion on "Encouraging Youth & Women Participation in Public Governance" led by the insightful Seyi Adisa and Samson Itodo (Executive Director of YIAGA Africa) We believe that with collaboration we can break down barriers and build a brighter future for Africa. On Friday, I attended the Emerge Story Conference in Lagos, Nigeria with some amazing women (and a few privileged men, lol) to celebrate the 2024 International Women's Day. I enjoyed being on a panel to discuss 'What She Needs: Female African Storytellers Building Their Legacy’. An advocate for #BetterRepresentation on the continent, I know that stories are powerful shapers of individual, national and even continental legacy. So it was my delight to explore the role of storytellers in shaping the larger “African legacy”. My highlights are hard to pick! From compelling short films to Ms. Joke Silva’s keynote on women's achievements in Nigeria's creative industry, and Dami Elebe’s call for recognition of writers, every segment was enriching. I left with two key learnings: 1️⃣ Storytellers have a key role to play in nation-building, especially in the face of Nigeria’s current economic crisis. They can use the power of storytelling to inspire unity which I feel is a great first step to getting homegrown solutions to the problems we face as a country. 2️⃣ Difference is beautiful. As one amazing woman put it, ‘How can we as an industry (creative) not appreciate the differences that make us so beautiful?’ Kudos to Ololade Okedare and the Emerge Story Company for facilitating this much-needed platform for creatives. Excited for more impactful work ahead! #BetterRepresentation #EmergeStoryConference #FemaleStorytellers #AfricanNarratives #LegacyBuilding #InternationalWomensDay 📚✨ Africa No Filter

Executive Director @ Eastern Africa Association | Partner GBS Africa /Policy/ Geopolitics/ESG/ Africa Trade Policy/Women in Trade
I look forward to this conversation chaired by Rachel Lindley in the company of our friends and partners Five Talents UK please join us for breakfast, a chance to network & some update on East Africa, discussing how politics & economic policies affect #Women social, political & economic development. Backgroud ! East Africa’s political landscape is often marked by internal conflicts and tensions and governance challenges. Economically, these countries are primarily agrarian, with a substantial portion of their economies depending on agriculture and livestock, sectors highly vulnerable to climate variability and conflict-related disruptions. This backdrop of instability not only affects overall economic development but also the social fabric, particularly the empowerment and financial freedom of women, who are among the most vulnerable groups in times of crisis, reflecting a critical need for investment and promotion of equality, in line with the UN International Women's Day theme for 2024. This breakfast chat will be an opportunity to hear about the programs by Five Talents providing financial literacy training , business training for these communities in our region, addressing this gap left by political instability & lack of women friendly economic policies. https://lnkd.in/eVFDZ-R8 #internationalwomensday2024 #investinwomen #investinafrica #sustainabledevelopment
🥐 ☕ Love a free breakfast? Join us for an exciting event! Agnes Gitau from GBS Africa Governments and Business Services Africa will be speaking at a roundtable breakfast event on 7th March just before #internationalwomensday. It's an opportunity to talk more about how we can #inspireinclusion. Click here to RSVP or learn more about the event.

#WEChamps | On June 8-10, Georgian women entrepreneurs visited Baku, fostering collaboration with Azerbaijani counterparts. Highlights include forum on empowerment and policy, tours of local businesses, and the signing of an MoU between Georgian and Azerbaijani health-focused businesses. The visit strengthens regional economic and cultural ties. Over the past week, I was in Kigali, Rwanda for another edition of the Africa Soft Power Summit . A huge kudos to Nkiru Balonwu, and the entire ASP team for another phenomenal event! Leading BellaNaija's partnership with Africa Soft Power over the past 3 years has been very meaningful. The Summit's focus on amplifying women's leadership, celebrating Africa's creative industries, and fostering inclusive conversations perfectly aligns with BellaNaija's mission. I firmly believe media is a powerful tool for revolutionizing systems in women's leadership. These conversations must move beyond rhetoric and address the marginalization of women in decision-making roles. We need to ask tough questions: Whose responsibility is it to address these gaps? Rwanda serves as a powerful example. As always, I was inspired by the Rwandan government's deliberate actions in women's political participation and representation. Over two-thirds of parliamentary seats and 50% of cabinet positions are held by women, the country demonstrates the effectiveness of deliberate action. Availability of information like this should inspire other African nations to enact similar reforms and achieve tangible results. Equity-driven data collection and reportage are crucial for informing strategic decision-making, and that's where media plays a vital role. As a woman in leadership, I echo some sentiments shared during the sessions on the glamourization of inclusivity. Simply offering women "a seat at the table" isn't enough. I believe that as we speak of systems changes, policies, inclusive leaders and giving women "a seat at the table", women leaders must consider the sustainability of that metaphoric seat at the table - competence, expertise and strategic mapping must take centre stage and lead the way. As #JoyceBanda, Malawi's first female President and Africa's second female President put it during her keynote speech at the conference; "You must know what belongs to you and you must take it, but you must move fast and very cautiously". Women must acknowledge that these biases exist, but push in spite of that. Where there is internal work to do, there are also systemic issues that must still be solved with socio-economic empowerment of women and education of the girl child. We are all charged across genders, across political factions, across the private and public sector to revolutionize systems in women leadership to secure Africa's prosperity. Leaving the Summit, I'm reinvigorated as a woman in leadership. Not only propelled to use my platform and media to amplify and celebrate the voices of women who have come before me but also to continually ask myself what can I do to make the journey easier for the women coming after me. Thank you, Africa Soft Power, for another thought-provoking event! #AfricaSoftPower #WomensLeadership #MediaForChange #AfricaRising
