Yesterday I got the biggest compliment from another sales rep!! In medical sales, physician offices see anywhere from 15-20 reps a day if not more I got to my second office and noticed another rep in the office ahead of me I waited at the front door until she was done and she looks at the front desk and says “You’ve got someone here. I don’t know if he’s a patient” She then looks at me and goes: “Are you a rep or a patient?” I told her I was a rep and she said “oh wow you don’t look like a rep” That’s exactly what I’m shooting for every day. WHEN THEY ZIG YOU ZAG (see previous post) If I dressed and spoke like every single rep, then as soon as I walk in to an office their defense systems would go up Thinking “here comes another rep” So I’ve toned down how I dress. I used to wear a dress shirt and vest but now.. I wear a company branded 3 quarter zip, lulu pants and dress shoes and offices don’t even know I’m a rep until I soft pitch If your competitors are doing something, think about how you can do it differently or the opposite #sales #prospecting #sandler

🎆EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT🎆 Stephen O'Keefe VP of Sales 1.What's your role at Alcon Connectors? Just promoted to VP of Sales for the company. I'm working closely with our CEO Brian Reed II on a daily basis and planning out our daily sales goals as a team. We'll be implementing new promotions, reaching out to customers more often for feedback on the company, see how we can help the industry better, making the company a place where our employees want to be each day, and a few other things to keep an eye out for in the future. 2.How long have you been with the company? I've been with the company since the winter of 2019. I came in as seasonal help because I was helping a buddy operate his landscape business at the time. The ownership group had just purchased Alcon that summer and noticed how I came in everyday, stood at the manual saw for 9-10 hours a day - cutting our connectors. Then offered me a permanent position & the rest is history. 3.What do you enjoy most about your job? I enjoy that everyday is something new. We work so many different customers across the country - that I get to work with many walks of lives, hear different accents, and turn random customers into business partners. And internally - Alcon is a family owned business. I'm not related to the family in any way, but the Reeds treat my wife, son, and I like we've been part of the family all our lives. 4.How has Alcon helped in your career development? The company has supported me from day one. I've worked as a general labor hand in the beginning and worked in every department possible, ultimately advancing to this position. I've been placed in uncomfortable and stressful situations - but they've always offered and assisted me with any resource, training, etc.. that I needed to succeed and continue to do now. 5.What are your hobbies and passions? When I'm not working; I'm always doing things with my wife and 1 year old son. He just recently started walking so chasing him around the house and making him laugh is my number one hobby right now. 6.What is something people don’t know about you? I'm from Cincinnati but die hard Tennessee Titans fan. Super Bowl 34 was the first one I remember watching as kid. I've been a fan ever since and every year it's an issue in the workplace when the Titans play the Bengals on Sunday. 7.What is something you can’t live without? Outside of my family and typical answers? Probably my PS5 - I've played video games all my life and it's nice to get a break from reality a few hours a week. 8.If you could be any movie character, who would you choose and why? Brian from the Fast and Furious movies. I have an obsession with the Fast and Furious movie franchise. I have the original movie poster frame in my basement and have spent too much money on car models that Paul Walker drove in the film. I can't even change the oil on my car but loved his character, loved all his cars, & everything he got to do in the films. "TUNA ON WHITE, NO CRUST"
