Mastery is where practice and preparation meeting execution. If you thrive on just “winging it” you are halting the growth or your career or your business. “𝗪𝗧𝗙 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴?!” We’ve all asked similar questions when presented with a decision that doesn’t seem to make any sense. I often examine how decisions are communicated to get some clues about the thinking behind them, and their overall quality. When we make difficult decisions, this will inevitably mean that they won’t be popular with all concerned or affected – even if we made a great decision, in the best way possible. That’s the way of the world  - but it’s also potentially a big problem. Simply making a great decision is not enough. If we aren’t able to communicate it effectively, it will be harder to get people to either implement or support it (some may try to undermine it), even if it’s the best course of action. Conversely, those who might not agree with a decision, or are indifferent to it, might get behind it if they understand why and how it was made (something supported by plenty of research). A quality decision-making framework (like The Decision-Making Studio’s FOCUS) can help with developing an effective communication strategy – provided of course, that the framework was used to make a smart decision in the first place. A great way of doing that is to anticipate some potential snarky, cynical, and sarcastic questions in advance so that we can head them off from the gun. What can you possibly achieve in 2 hours? Turns out, a lot. 💯 [Caveat: when you've built an initial strong foundation for it before]. It marks nearly one year to the day that we completely revamped the positioning, offer, pricing and communication around the incredible work Elise Green and the team at Assent Communications do. Why? Because changed market conditions require different approaches how to best address them coupled with personal circumstances. The work that the Assent Communications team does around her CommuniGagement Framework which we refined last year is not only very complex and incredible effective for Government and their communities. However, it's the commitment on top of everything else that's a standout: from developing multiple white-paper studies, to speaking at conferences, developing marketing and brand assets, running complimentary workshops, and consistently engaging with her own community, Elise certainly is dedicated to pushing boundaries and making a lasting impact in her field.
