Consultants, problems and solutions In Brazil, it is more elegant to call a salesperson a consultant. The underlying image is of someone more prepared to serve the customer. But this "nomenclature" creates confusion. A seller is usually commissioned. The interest is to sell that product or service that is on the established portfolio. Consultant, by definition, is a professional who seeks what is best for the client. A legitimate consultant is one who identifies problems and proposes solutions for the client, including technical, financial, legal and management issues. It is the client who needs to know what's wanted and choose who to hire to discover the challenges posed and how to face them.

Educated buying…… I recently did a poll asking buyers (mainly procurement professionals) how they feel about buying a complex service like language…. 📊 The results showed that trust is put in the pitching vendors to educate them into making the right choice for their business…… This did not necessarily surprise me but it did make me think….. ⁉️ Do you trust the vendor when buying something for yourself? I personally check every review going, read the pre and post information and make an informed choice using my own research or a recommendation from a trusted friend. 🤔 If you are thinking of embarking on looking for a language provider and need some independent support on what to ask, how to assess vendors and gain some knowledge then please reach out and I’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
