Another new scare from Children's Health Defense. Another one without scientific merit according to this importance meta-analysis that reviews the extensive literature on the matter. If anything found, it appears that they found a significant association between behavioral problems at the age of 7 and prenatal and postnatal cell phone exposure. The results of a subsequent study by the same authors 10 on a larger sample size, conducted in 2012 after the consideration of additional confounders, showed that the previous finding was not coincidental. However, the OR was still smaller and remained significant. Also, one should keep in mind confounding factors, one being totally omitted here: if overusing a cellphone during pregnancy, a mother is likely to do the same after such and therefore not be able available to stimulate and educate their child as required. Sometimes simple explanations simply explain things… Furthermore, one of the study that quotes Children's Health Defense have such shortcomings that their conclusion is totally flawed according to the attached analysis. Here again, the dangers of drawing conclusion on such relationships always find explanation in simple facts: excessive users in the study performed by Lu et al. were possibly among the people who more experience stress and anxiety due to problems such as turbulent marriage and stressful jobs. It is worth mentioning that positive associations between “high” compared to “low mobile phone use” and current stress, sleep disturbances, and symptoms of depression have been reported by Thomee et al. https://lnkd.in/eP4ER2mw. https://lnkd.in/efgkAv68
🚨 PLEASE SHARE: Talking on a cell phone for 30+ minutes per day during pregnancy can negatively impact your baby’s growth. #NationalChildrensDay #CHDEMR ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e6Ne85cY
