The word “hospitality” is synonymous with words like… “welcome, friendliness, warmth, generosity, cordiality, sociableness and openness”. Pause a second an consider what is needed for someone in the hospital who experiences being… lost, overwhelmed, out of control, injured, scared, angry, hurt, totally vulnerable. In these cases, hospitality is precisely at the foundation of what is needed to accompany our patients toward healing and wholeness. Hospitals that practice holistic hospitality are safe havens for the sick and vulnerable. Celebrating you this Hospital Week at BHS – What a Joy it is to serve hospitably together!
