DOJ's new pilot program is set to change the game for clinical research sites, CROs, and sponsors! Summary The DOJ has introduced a transformative Pilot Program aimed at enhancing transparency and legal compliance through voluntary self-disclosures (https://lnkd.in/eCmXMwtn ). Starting from April 15, 2024, this program will provide NPAs to individuals disclosing criminal activities within corporations, provided they fully cooperate and meet strict criteria . Impact: The new DOJ initiative could lead to increased vigilance and integrity within #clinicalresearch organizations, sites and Sponsors. As individuals are incentivized to report misconduct, companies must enhance their compliance frameworks to mitigate risks associated with potential internal disclosures during corporate transactions. Limitations: The program strictly applies to disclosures related to certain criminal offenses and does not affect other DOJ or division policies. Additionally, the benefits are contingent upon full cooperation and satisfaction of comprehensive disclosure and restitution requirements, which might limit its accessibility to many potential informants .
