Reflecting on National Sorry Day: Honouring the Stolen Generations Today, on National Sorry Day, I pause to acknowledge the profound grief and suffering experienced by the Stolen Generations. This day is a significant moment in our nation’s journey toward healing and reconciliation, remembering those Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. National Sorry Day serves as a reminder of the continued need for truth-telling and justice. It is a time to reflect on our shared history and the ongoing impact of past policies on Indigenous communities. By understanding and acknowledging this painful history, we can contribute to a future built on respect, understanding, and mutual support. Lets stand together with the Stolen Generations and commit to playing our part in the healing process. Together, we can work towards a reconciled Australia where the experiences of all are respected and valued. #NationalSorryDay #StolenGenerations #Reconciliation #Healing #IndigenousRights #TruthTelling #CommunitySupport #TogetherForChange #RespectAndRecognition

The video is about raising your children to appreciate the value of their work rather than as a money-earning activity. This topic is even more important for working adults who view their professional engagement primarily as a Calling (Value Hunter) rather than as a Career (Success Hunter) and Job (Money Hunter). Numerous scientific research publications have continuously proven this statement. I found this one particularly interesting: https://lnkd.in/dGCvaNPV. Here is another of my favorites, that expands on Albert Einstein's quote about the advantages of Quality over Success when doing your work: https://lnkd.in/dFcpfpuP.

Focus on #valuecreation Money is a #byproduct. Be it #emotions, #love, #respect, #hardwork to create a product or service or manage relationships or whatever we do in our lives. we create some sort of value out of everything. If we focus on values, we build long lasting relationships (both with your customers or at personal levels), People like you, trust you and you generate wealth over a period of time because you always create value out of something!! If you only focus on #transaction, be it #financial #emotional or anything else which is a onetime thing will not last long!! #sustainablevalue #sustainablemodels #sustainableliving #lifelearning

Today is National Sorry Day, which acknowledges the Stolen Generations of First Nations peoples of Australia. From the mid 1850's to the 1970's, Australia's state and federal governments systematically and forcibly removed many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their homes and families. More than 50,000 children were taken from their families without notice or reason and placed in institutions and foster homes, with many subjected to abuse and neglect. Children were denied any access to their cultures and punished for speaking their languages. It was decades before some children were able to see or speak to their parents again, and many families were never reunited. These children have come to be known as the Stolen Generations. There are over 17,000 Stolen Generation survivors, and it is estimated that one third of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are descended from the Stolen Generations. Truth telling is essential for reconciliation. On Sorry Day, we acknowledge the immense suffering caused by cruel and racist policies of assimilation and recognise Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities who continue to be affected by this deep injustice.
