12 brutal truths all employers need to read:
1. When your best people leave, it's not them. It's you.
2. You don't have a remote work issue. You have trust issues.
3. Management that can't handle feedback won't survive change.
4. If your actions don't align with your values, your employees won't trust you.
5. Your diversity program is hollow if your leadership team all looks the same.
6. Underpaying your people doesn't make you cost-effective. It makes you short-sighted.
7. A toxic culture will tarnish your brand, no matter how good your products are.
8. Your customer experience will never exceed your employee experience.
9. Micromanagement isn't a sign of dedication. It's a warning sign.
10. Top talent won't stay if their growth isn't your priority.
11. Leading by fear creates teams that underperform.
12. If you don't pay people what they're worth, someone else will.
When you always put your people first,
they'll give you their best
and everyone wins.

P.S. What's a truth you'd add to the list?
Joe, I think you absolutely hit the nail on the head! Successful sales leaders, or any business leaders for that matter, strive to provide the training, tools, leadership, coaching, mentorship and opportunities that impact/change the lives of thier teammates and their teammates families in a positive manner.
It’s not enough to view and approach your role as making teammates better inside sales reps or outside sales reps or whatever the role may be. Those that succeed truly invest their time and efforts on empowering their teammates to succeed in ways that can truly impact their teammates lives.
When we think about the coaches or leaders or mentors that we loved, they are the ones that gave us the training or wisdom or opportunities that changed the course of our lives. They were invested in our success and provided everything they could to make sure that you found it. And when you found that success you, your family and the organization you worked for all benefitted—it’s the win win or the rising tide or whatever you want to call it—but it’s what leaders should strive to accomplish every day.
There is no thank you better than “you changed my life”!

🚀 **Sales Leadership Isn't Just About Numbers** 🚀
As sales leaders, we often focus on metrics, quotas, and the bottom line. But the true essence of sales leadership goes beyond the numbers.
A sales leader has two primary responsibilities, develop your team members and deliver results! 🌟
I say those things in that order for a specific reason…. If a leader doesn’t develop their team, they will forever struggle to deliver results.
🔆 So, what do great sales leaders do differently? 🔆
✅ They Listen – they seek to understand their team’s needs, challenges and motivations.
✅ They're Present – They spend time with their team leading from the front and not sending dictates from the ivory tower. This presence should focus on building mutual respect and trust.
✅ They Invest in Growth – they provide opportunities for their team members to build their personal career portfolio building the bench of next team leaders as well as stretching those who want to be a career seller.
✅ Great sales leaders Celebrate the Wins – Big or small they understand recognition fuels motivation!
Aspiring to be a sales leader is a worthy endeavor— it’s a role that can change the lives of your team members.

Great advice—we all need coaching and we all need to coach. It’s how you get better and how you help those around you get better. Practice not perfection! If you ever think you have perfected your craft you’ve really just decided you’re as good as you’re ever going to be.
All—with my departure from Cadence Asset Management & Trust, I also ceased my role as host of In Good Companies. It was a great run with fabulous guests, a top notch production team and, I believe, thoughts and advice that were positive and actionable. I’m proud of all we did to take a then crazy idea and turn it into a hit.
As the show enters into its sixth season, I am thrilled to let you know that Ari Marin, a talented young man with tremendous experience and thoughtful advice will take over the mic. I brought Ari into the CAM&T team with excitement and a deep appreciation for his talents, knowledge and pragmatism—I’m proud to say he never dissapointed.
Please listen and give Ari the support you all so kindly gave me during my time behind the mic. I know I will be listening and rooting him on!
You won’t need it, but best of luck Ari and IGC production team!
Patrick
