Minimising our environmental impact is really important to us, as is making the most of the waste and surplus material we receive. By taking an already manufactured product and repurposing it into another industry with either limited or no modifications involved to the original product, the full resmelting cycle can be avoided, and with it the CO2 impact on the environment. With industry-leading environmental accreditation, we are well versed in all aspects of tubulars reuse to extend a product’s lifespan. Industry is the ENGINE of growth. Solid Waste Management Manage solid waste by converting the municipal solid waste (MSW) (household and commercial garbage/trash) into energy and the yard debris into mulch (trees and branches) and compost (leaves and grass trimmings). The combusted or incinerated MSW will generate electricity, water, and ash, for concrete, with all emissions captured, recycled, and repurposed. The mulch and compost would be utilized in the parks and green spaces by the State, City, and/or County along with being available to the residents…for FREE! Odors would be mitigated or eliminated with advanced technologies. There would be no additional cost to the residents for management services and the complex would partner with neighboring communities. An alternative or additional waste-to-energy process is the conversion of MSW to carbon neutral transportation (gasoline, diesel, and jet) fuels and feedstocks. Southern Rock Energy has developed a waste-to-energy complex with the support of industry leading technology providers and commercial partners. Southern Rock Energy intends to locate the waste-to-energy complex in combination with Southern Rock Energy’s next generation crude refinery. #wastetoenergy #msw #energy #carbonneutralfuels

The connection between solid waste and carbon emissions is not as distant as one may think. On the surface, Greenhouse gas emissions associated with landfills are hardly 5% of global emissions. Further upstream, however, manufacturing and transportation of everyday goods result in emissions that hold a nearly 40% stake in global emissions. (https://rb.gy/5qlzpp) The decomposition process of carbon-based products, from banana peels to cardboard boxes, is largely to blame for the detrimental (and increasing) GHG emissions from landfills. As carbon-based products fester in landfills, often sequestered from oxygen in pits as deep as 500 feet, they break down and release methane, a GHG nearly 28 times more concentrated than carbon dioxide. However, legislators in Washington recently finalized a regulation requiring dozens of state landfills to install/improve gas collection and control operations, preventing emissions from entering the atmosphere and potentially boosting renewable natural gas production. (https://rb.gy/ps28tm) Of the nearly 3,000 landfills in the U.S., only 500 collect methane for energy production—however, regulations like Washington’s highlight the need for change within the waste management industry. SWEEP’s Renewable-Fueled Disposal Facilities credit urges industries to utilize landfill methane and other natural gasses to power on-site equipment and processes, reducing landfill emissions by allocating fuel sources so nothing is wasted. Using emissions for good is a great way to boost your program’s sustainability and meet a SWEEP Environmental Performance credit. Does your program take advantage of available natural fuel? Look into SWEEP’s Renewable-Fueled Disposal Facilities credit to see how you can fulfill SWEEP’s vision for the circular future of waste management. Check out this 🎥VIDEO Waste-to-Energy provides local energy from our residual waste ♻️ While helping to divert waste from landfills ♻️ Helps to reduce dependence on fossil fuels imports ♻️ Saves millions of tonnes of CO2 ♻️ Contributes to security of energy supply Provides sustainable, local, low carbon, cost-effective and reliable energy. Lessons to be learnt from the countries in the EU28 Landfilling 4% of municipal waste or less: ♻️ Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden & Finland. ♻️ Most of them have introduced landfill bans ♻️ And have proven that Waste-to-Energy & Recycling are complementary to divert waste from landfills Source CEWEP (Confederation of European Waste-to-Energy Plants) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More information on Alternative fuels for power & heat - see link in comments below ⬇️ It is a fact that humanity must reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and embrace renewables, including wind and solar. Important among these renewables are Waste to Energy (WtE) and BioEnergy which provide steady, reliable generation of heat and power. 🇬🇧 Why use Alternative Fuels for Power or Heat? 🇩🇪 Warum alternative Brennstoffe zur Strom- oder Wärmeerzeugung? 🇸🇪 Varför använda alternativa bränslen för ström eller värme? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #wastetoenergy #eu #eu28 #saxlundgroup European Union , FEAD - European Waste Management Association.

With Canada generating #36_million_tons of solid waste in 2020—of which 72.5% ends up in landfills—effective waste management is a critical challenge. In our latest research, we applied advanced tools like FUZZY AHP, FUZZY TOPSIS, and Geographic Information Systems (#GIS) to assess five potential landfill sites based on seven key criteria, including land capacity, water resources, and road networks. We also used Interpretive Structural Modeling (#ISM) and #MICMAC analysis to analyze the relationships between these factors. Our findings identified #Land_Capacity as the most significant factor, while #Road_Networks and #Communication have the strongest driving power. This comprehensive framework, backed by GIS technology, offers municipalities a data-driven approach to #selecting_landfill_sites, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting sustainable waste management practices. Online access at: https://lnkd.in/gPR3-S6G I am Grateful to Professor Dr. Golam Kabir Sir for his support and guidance and everyone in the research team. #WasteManagement #LandfillSiteSelection #GIS #FUZZYAHP #TOPSIS #Sustainability #Canada #EnergyEfficiency #EnvironmentalResponsibility

The debate continues over Miami-Dade’s plans for a new waste-to-energy facility, which aims to replace an aging incinerator notorious for its foul smells and inefficient combustion. While the proposed $1.5 billion facility promises advancements like carbon capture and increased capacity, it highlights the ongoing issues with traditional waste-to-energy methods.♻️🚧 At ZrO Waste, we believe there’s a better way. Our technology addresses these challenges head-on by offering more efficient waste processing and minimizing odors. As the industry evolves, it's crucial to prioritize solutions that enhance both environmental and community well-being. 🌍💡 #WasteToEnergy #Sustainability #InnovativeSolutions #ZrOWaste

This is such an exciting time in the waste world...office-residential-restaurant-retail clusters that are generating 25-30 tons of waste per day can efficiently convert 90-95% of the waste into useable energy instead of shipping it off to be buried at a landfill. Win-win.
Is is possible to turn landfill waste into energy assets? Yes, it is! Check out a discussion by our CEO in the UK... #wastetoenergy #wastetovalue #chemicalrecycling #wastetransformation #thermochemicalconversion https://lnkd.in/gJRZCxX7
