For the past few months I’ve been helping develop challenges for the DoD Cyber Sentinel Challenge that hosted nearly 5,000 players yesterday. On of my favorites I called “Let’s Game, Boy!” and made a fully playable Gameboy ROM with an embedded flag. Check out the walkthrough below. Cyber deception is one of my favorite technologies to deploy. The strategy of what an attacker will go after or where to place breadcrums. It’s like phishing the attacker. The mindset of “assume you will be breached” is how I like operate. Deception technology allows me to detect and alert if something malicious is happening and react in real time.
