🌈🌍Today is #IDAHOBIT2024, which raises awareness about the discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ people worldwide. 🌍🏳️🌈 This year's theme, "No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all" was decided through extensive consultations with LGBTQIA+ organisations from around the world. This theme will allow for advocacy and celebrations in many forms - be it from human rights defenders, LGBTQIA+ civil society groups, millions of people in our communities, and our allies. Despite progress, it is disheartening to acknowledge that as of today, 60 UN member states still criminalize consensual same-sex acts by law, and 2 member states do so de facto. This stark reality highlights the persistent need for advocacy, solidarity, and action.
