🎉 Wow, 15 years... That's the time it took me to go from the starting block to building Generations Recruitment to this stage. 😅 It might seem like it was a straightforward journey, without obstacles or hesitations. But that's far from the truth. 🚀 The reality is that it took resilience to grow and evolve from a solopreneur to a team leader. And it's this story, the 15-year life of my company, that I want to share with you today. 💡 Advice based on my personal experience: #1 Cultivate pragmatism but...: If you start your own business it is probably because you feel talented in what you do. Moving away from yourself to build a business requires reflection to build a company vision. This introspection is essential to bring people on board. #2 Hold to your values: They guide you during decision-making. #3 Always stay positive: Optimism is infectious and motivates even in challenging times. #4 Work towards excellence: Never settle for less ... At this office, they mock me with this statement "It's good but...". #5 Show proactivity: Anticipate rather than react. Take ownership of your relationships and face them. Problems or issues are always catching you up at the end... #6 Surround yourself with people who truly care. 🙏 Before I go further, I must take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this journey. To my coaches, who have enlightened me with their wisdom; to my family, friends, and colleagues (and ex-colleagues), who have given me unwavering support and belief in my vision; to the candidates and clients, who have placed their trust in me and my company; each one of you has played a part in my growth and success. 🌟A Personal Journey with Groove Management: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 & 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 As we look forward to celebrating Groove Management's 10th anniversary in 2024, I'm reminded of my own journey that began with Brian Formato and the Groove team back in the fall of 2016. It all started when Brian attended my workshop on negotiations at Advent Coworking, leading to several fruitful collaborations, and both of us joining a mastermind group organized by Calvin Stovall, one of Groove's clients at the time (and wonderful Monica R. Allen, PhD). Our work in this group paved the way for a closer partnership. In 2021, I embarked on my first executive coaching engagement through Groove Management. It's been an incredible journey, working with world-class leaders and teams. This experience has been challenging, humbling, and rewarding at the same time. 💎 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 requires a different tone and pace. There's a need for more directness and a quicker approach – something that surprisingly aligns well with my Belarusian roots! 💎 Simon Sinek recently said that 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬. ✨Once upon a time... in a beautiful #coaching session... arrived this LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE - It took me 6 months to hire a talented marketing staff, she is really good at what she does and 2 months after starting, she got pregnant. Hiring a young lady who got married the year before, pregnancy was expected, hence I do not mind and I'm happy for her. - 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛? - Well, I can cope with her absence. I've handled the workload all through the long recruiting period, so I can do that again. What bothers me more is the negative talk about that. Colleagues - even HR ones - keep saying that it's a shame, a real bad timing, taking advantage of the situation, etc. Ironically, they won't be impacted but they do grumble. - 𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢? - I'm worried this will discourage her to return after her maternity leave.
