The most underrated skill at work- Is helping people enjoy what they’re doing. And it starts with enjoying what we’re doing. There’s too many people languishing through their jobs and days. One of the simplest solves for it is leadership that knows how to make heavy stuff ‘lighter’. It doesn’t matter if it’s calls, Team meetings, Business reviews. If you can have some fun and help your groups and teams do the same. You have grabbed leadership by the horns. Life is too damn short to be serious and stressed all the time. The ultimate way to operate at the highest level is being light, having more enjoyment. Nobody brings their A game feeling tight and stressed. Just look at free throw or penalty shot percentages when there’s a minute left in the game, They don’t go up that’s for sure….. Leaders set the tone for this and you can’t fake it. You have to work on this personally to project it authentically. Gamify the hard stuff, and your teams and groups will thank you and pay you back in spades. Bring intensity and passion into a fun atmosphere, and watch results and culture explode. I had to work on this as I grew in my professional career. I’m serious by nature. But I realized things always went smoother and better as I had more fun. Its OK to be more human and have more damn fun …(including at your own expense)
